Speedtree

Speedtree is a new feature in Trainz 2010. It seems to be a very powerful 3D tree and grass modelling package - RW potential perhaps?

SpeedTree inclusion in RS was debated long before release of RS. It was rejected, probably because of cost reasons and internal solution was developed (which looks OK).

hi, ..

2495 U.S. dollars per year for the exploitation license is not a high price in developing a game title.
As I said, the trees are better for Dschungle or Fantasy games useful.

I looked into speed tree when I first joined Kuju, there were issues on intergration back in 2006.
It could be interesting in the future, no plans just yet though.

best regards

hi

if you want to turn RW into a fantasy/cartoon game, then it would be a nice feature :)

i see big castles, like in alice in wonderland............
i'm not really jealous about this feature in trainz 2010. by the way, again a new trainz version??

Speed tree's great if you don't want to get grass stains, but where's the fun in that?

It's most impressive, and clearly it's definitely not only fantasy oriented, so it would make a spectacular addition to the game engine. Hopefully.
