Did you down load the class 76 Cab as per the readme that came with loco?,if not just go to the down load page look for cabs, as your new I've looked them up for you these are the 2 cab downloads you need 4195 and 4641 for class 76,you also might need class 76 sounds as well.

Firstly, calm down please. I realise how frustrated you must feel that you cannot get things to work, but getting stroppy won't help, and you may need to be patient until someone replies offering help. To save any confusion, I've merged your other thread with this one so all the answers are in the same place.

The advice that Michael has given you is sound and it may also help to read the tutorial on aliasing cabviews - have a read of it http://www.uktrainsim.com/index.php?for ... m_pageno=5, see how you get on and come back here with questions if things don't seem any easier.

I've just checked you don't need any sounds as they are all aliased to the original MSTS Acelia loco,as long as that's still instaled the class 76 will work.

Hi Claypie1, when a loco is aliased to another one either using the Sounds or Cabview files, that means you don't have to do anything so long as you have the aliased Loco in your Trainset folder.
If you did look in the listing of the .eng File of your 26020 loco using Wordpad down the page you will find the lines that relate to either the Cabview or Sounds and they would look like this :-
Cabview ( "..//..//Acela//Cabview//Acela.cvf" )
Sound ( "..//..//Acela//Sound//Acelaeng.sms" )
Sound ( "..//..//Acela//Sound//Acelacab.sms" )
This tells the computer to go back two times to the Trainset Folder then find the Acela Train Folder, look for the Cabview Folder in the Acela Folder and load the Acela.cvf which is in there.
This is the same for the sound lines, a lot of early Trains used this method as there were no alternatives around but as time has gone on new Cabview and Sound files have been added to the list.
So when you get experience you can alter the lines in the .eng file to take this into account, I see that this download has no read-me so as Michael says the Train will run correctly as it is.

is there any way i can view the program files for the 26020 black version of the train because it just says cannot find acela.sms and there is no em1 or 26020 folder to assign the sounds to is there something i am doing wrong because the istallation is just an exe file it says it is saving the files to trainset and i have even tried saving it elsewhere so i could see if i was doing it incorreclty there is NO folder for this train. and on the game no sound.

Hi
This should explain where you need to be looking

http://www.uktrainsim.com/index.php?for ... m_pageno=3

Each loco normally has its own named folder, and then sub folders called cabview and sound.

Cheers

Hi Claypie1, I have had a chance to install the 26020 loco using the following file :-
 Click to view more informationClass 76 Preserved 26020 [1291201 bytes] - 26020black.exe
File ID: 6210 Date: 23 Jul 2003 - 2395 Downloads

which I take it is the one you have downloaded and installed.
If this is correct then it comes with a Cabview Folder containing the Acela.cvf so you don't have to do anything on that front and this is why you have the Cabview but no sounds.
The sounds problem is easy to remedy as the .eng file uses the Acela sounds but you will have to open up the Acela Loco. Folder in your MSTS Trainset Folder and you will see that it has two folders near the top of the list of the files.
One is the Cabview which you already have and the other is the Sound one, just right click on the Sound Folder and copy or paste it into your MSTS Trains/Trainset/26020_class_76 folder.
Do not move it as this will stop the Acela Train from working if in the future you want to use it again.
Always after doing this check that the sound folder has been moved into the 26020_class_76 folder by selecting it and you should have the Cabview and the Sound Folder near the top of the File page and then you will find that the Loco has the right sounds as per the .eng File.

yeah you see there is no 26020 folder to paste it into. I have downloaded teh EM2 aroura and that is absolutely fine. and i can see the folder it goes into it is labelled aroura. however ther is no clas 76 files in the trainset whatsoever so i cannot copy and paste the sound files in.

Hi claypie1,
Sorry I missed your name.
If I may join in here. I have also tried this download.

 Click to view more informationClass 76 Preserved 26020 [1291201 bytes] - 26020black.exe
File ID: 6210 Date: 23 Jul 2003 - 2395 Downloads

You need to create a Folder in Trainset called '26020_class_76' (no quotes) and install into that. Not just click the install icon.

A piece of advice.
Always install to a temporary location, the desk top will do, then you can see how the download installs read the readme and adjust anything, before copy/pasting into the Trainset Folder. That way there is a backup of the item as well, to use if the one in Trainset is compromised.

Come back

Good Luck
