What do you want?
I've been thinking about asking this for a few days but not had long enough to sit down and actually type it... I'd like to know what thing (content, feature, tool, etc...) you would really like to see available for RS/RW? This isn't a "what would you like Just Trains to make" (as we've already got a bit of a list based on existsing comments, research and just knowing what we want to do) but more what ANYONE could make for the simulator, commercial or freeware.
It would probably be best not to be really specific, not saying an exact loco or train, but instead be a bit more general, such as French High Speed Line, Japanese Commuter Route, 1970's Shunting Yard, a modern electrified route, 1940's route, US high speed passenger route, 2nd Generation UK DMUs, 3rd rail electrics, "gameplay" features that allow for more than the simulator currently allows, etc...
What is the one thing you really want to see in RS or RW?

Settle and Carlisle!
Re: What do you want?
High Speed 1 and LGV Nord would be my first choice. Of course, any TGV/Eurostar Italia/AVE/ICE high speed route would be of interest to me, but it would be interesting to see if TVM 430 cab signalling could be accurately represented in RW. My second choice would be a South West Trains/any Southern electric route. All of these with appropriate stock of course
Speaking of routes, how is the Bristol - Exeter route coming along?

Hi Simuk,
Construction Kit for humans incl. paint-kit would be fine. So we could bring more life on stations. the stations and cities seems to be dead without.
There should be a sound environment wich is steered by triggers or similar to simulate messages on stations or spoken instructions during scenarios.
More possibilities for CAB Builders to create gauges (eg. Computerdisplays)
Routes and Rolling Stock OUTSIDE UK!!!!!!!!

what I would really like to see, something that should be very simple, and i might actually be a bit petty here:
I would really like to see the announcements on trains in cab view and passenger view (actually not sure if they are heard in the cab in real life). For example: 'This is Reading, this train is for London Paddington. The next station is Twyford" etc...

Re: What do you want?
Hi,
This is exactly what I have been asking myself lately. My very short list is this........
An economic purpose for the railway to even exist.
Broadly speaking , yes it comes down to what the individual wants from RW/RS/MSTS/Tranz/Bve/RRT/TTD and a few others that escape me. I just feel that some sort of reason to run a train back and forth other than "because I can" would add something. How is a whole different topic.

Hi SimUk,
I would like to see more in cab animations like sway and vibrations whilst the train moves. The Plymouth to London waterloo line would be nice also.
*EDIT*: It seems RSAdam is already working on the South West Trains newtwork. http://gaugeirregularities.blogspot.com ... st%20Lines

Re: What do you want?
A Steam-era industrial narrow-gauge line. One of the american logging railroads from the early-20th century for instance. Tight curves, steep grades, usually using a Shay or some other type of geared locomotive.
Re: What do you want?
Anything non-UK. RW is turning into a UK simulator, as RS.com more or less is focused on UK trains and routes. The US steamtrains is coming soon, but then it's UK again. This will in the long term lose a lot of users for other countries than UK. Even now more people didn't buy RW of the same reason. And reading fora around the world says the same.
So we need a lot more non-UK, if RW shall survive.

Re: What do you want?
For routes in general I would say -
A Swiss Route with mixed traffic capability
N.A. Route but predominately passenger with some freight
Metro system with above and below ground sections eg like Amsterdam, for its size and complexity ie not too complex or big
Light rail

First Generation DMUs.
Old Time North & South American locos and rolling stock, including those peculiar old railcars and motorised gangers' trolleys.
