Great Eastern Crouch Valley Branch to Shenfield

Post by jimessex »

Southminster to Shenfield.

Hi all, just to guage some opinion would anyone be interested if I completed the above route? I would love to do the Great Eastern in full but would prob take years! Thought I may start with the single line branch from Southminster to Wickford and then mainline to Shenfield.

This would therefore include 9 stations and a good 25plus miles of track.

Just wanted to see what sort of interest there was first as there still seems to be a lot of (in some cases justified) negativity.

Believe me Jamie, there won't be any negativity towards anyone trying to attempt a route, especially someone like yourself whi isn't going all gung-ho and making a "shorter" section. What people generally don't seem to like is if a real life route doesn't contain DEM terrain data or track laid to specific markers (like what Scott is offering you above). I imagine there would be a lot of interest, especially if it was an ongoing project to extend as time sees fit.

please go ahead with your route, you should be building for your own pleasure, so it doesnt really matter what other people think of it, if all goes well then share it, im sure people will be gratefull

Thanks guys for the support.

I was hoping to stir up a bit more interest before I revealed that I had finished it but never mind. Just testing it this week, making 5 scenarios with it and then it will be uploaded asap. I will then look at extending it to Southend Victoria, but probably only when some emu's get released as there are none as yet.

Cheers overmarz for the offer but I have DEMed mine so will stick with that.
darpour, cheers for the interest, looking forward to ECML.
Gav, thanks again for your help with the signs, they look excellent.

Here's some pics, hope you like them.

You used spaces in some of the filenames mate and BBCode doesn't like them. You can make them show as images if you replace each space with %20 in the URL but it still doesn't work with the [album] method I'm afraid.

Anyway, here are the missing pictures linked correctly, but best bet is the use something like an underscore instead of spaces.

Superb work Jamie. Just a query though, what happened to the 302 that was in development?
Regards.

Looks really charming. I can see the routebuilding bar has been raised a notch again. :)
