Scenarios From Darpor - Default Stock

Post by Darpor »

Following the recent debate about the lack of scenarios that use freeware stock, here are two of which I am quite happy with, now awaiting approval on UKTS. It requires no additional downloads, just default stock provided with Railworks.

Description

You are in charge of 1N07, the service from London Kings Cross to Newcastle. You will be taking this service, comprised of an Intercity 125 set from Northallerton on to Newcastle stopping at Darlington only. In front of you is a late running Transpennine service but you should be allowed to clear it at some point along the route.

Briefing

Take an Intercity 125 set from Northallerton to Newcastle stopping at Darlington only. Your booked departure time from Northallerton is 14:58. It is probable that the signalman will give you authority to go bi-directional and use Platform 1 at Darlington, however, you will be required to press TAB on both entering and departing the station in order to contact the signalman due to no AWS when bi-directional working is in effect.

Re: 1N07 - Northallerton to Newcastle - Freeware Scenario

Post by Darpor »

This one is intended to be driven without the track monitor for increased realism. If you use the track monitor and accelerate when the next signal turns yellow a mile away, you may well keep chasing yellows. It is also a fairly long one and should take in the order of 2 hours to complete.

Description

Following the withdrawal of the Class 55 Deltic fleet 3 months ago, many enthusiasts had been lobbying British Rail to give them a chance to say a final farewell. BR gave in to the pressure and organised the "Required Track" nationwide tour which would last for two weeks and cover much of England, Scotland and Wales. Today is the leg between Sunderland and Leeds via Newcastle, Durham and York. You will take charge just outside of Newcastle and drive the leg to York but don't expect any favours today, the HST is the favourite of both customers AND British Rail personnel.

Briefing

Take a Class 55 Deltic and a rake of Mk2 coaches from Newcastle to York, stopping at Durham in between. Beware, it may take a while to get in to and then away from Newcastle as other services have priority over you.

These look like fun. Will keep an eye out for them being approved.

Thanks for answering the call for scenarios using default stock. It's not an issue for me if it's default or full of payware, but new scenarios are always welcome.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. Just a heads up to say that "1N07 - Northallerton to Newcastle" has now been approved. Let me know what you think about them, they are actually the first ones I have ever uploaded.
