Hi everyone!
I'm new to MSTS (and loving it!), but I've got plenty of questions about it too - which I'm hoping that some of you here will be able to help with.
I was really glad to find a download of the original mainline diesels, LMS 10000 and 10001 (file #13706), as I've got a really strong family connection to the originals (my grandfather worked as the head pattern maker at Derby Loco Works and made all of the patterns and jigs for them). However, I'm really disappointed that there isn't a cab view included with them, as the default one used looks so wrong!
So, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a suitable cab view I can use instead? (And also advise on any file edits I need to make in order to get it to work OK...) Is there one available for download which will work and look OK, or am I stuck with the default option?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Realistic cab for 10000/10001?

I think there was a suitable cab view included with the BATS LMS stock pack. I don't know if it's still available though.

Hi AN,
For window position try a 37 cab view.
I have no experience of the interior though.
Doug.

Re: Realistic cab for 10000/10001?
Thanks for the advice - Although I've no experience of the actual interior of the original locos, I'd have to say that the Peak cab probably looks more like what it was like (as both types were Derby-built, and the Peaks came out of the early stages of the Pilot Scheme...).
So is there a tutorial anywhere that shows how to set things up to use a different cab? (I'm sure I've seen something somewhere, but can't remember where it was...)
Thanks again for the help!

Hi lather???,
A basic knowledge of file handling will be needed.
There is a good readme with the download.
Work with a backup rather than the one in Train Simulator.
However you might need help with where the files to be changed are.
Come back if you get stuck.

Hi
I think you'll find the cab, Ray suggested ,comes with a comprehensive install instruction 'readme' document.
Failing that try

Ah I was going to ask the first question myself since I'm currently looking at Early Prototypes, etc. as a change from my BR TOPS work.
Cabview for 10000 and 10001 - Class 45 was my choice but will look out for BATS LMS as suggested
Cabview for 10800 - Class 15 is my initial choice
Cabview for Lion - Class 47 being considered
Cabview for 10201,etc. - no reason not to choose Class 73 as recommended
Cabview for GT3 - not sure so recommendations welcome
Cabview for 10100 (Fell) - not sure so recommendations welcome

The cabview for the BATS locomotives is similar to that for the Class 37 above. The following is a 1947 Derby drawing:
