An easy question to answer. TSC forums came very close to being shut down at an earlier date, but continued for a while after appointing some new moderators to keep things under control.

Sadly there was a small handful of persistent troublemakers there who required constant moderating whenever they posted. They decided to turn any moderating, which was always a team effort, into a personal war. Recently certain ex-members of TSC took it upon themselves to attack TSC for refusing to discuss matters in a private area of the forums, and were extremely insulting to both TSC and the moderators involved.

I have been called a liar, had my mental state and my sexuality questioned, and had to endure an extremely insulting comment which was left on the TSC pages in the form of a "New Member's name." I have also had libellous comments placed on a certain individual's website.

I wanted to keep quiet about all this, but the real reason why TSC forums were closed is for the simple reason that the decent people who were paying to keep them going were not experiencing the fun which it used to be. And why? Because they refused to tolerate the juvenile abuse they were receiving from certain persistent troublemakers there. Enough was enough.

What has happened on other sites stays on those sites and does not continue here. New members are strongly urged to have a good read of the forum code of conduct at http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 68&t=58279

Threats and general bad feelings between members will not be tolerated on these forums. If anyone can't cope with that concept then the moderators or site admins can arrange for the forum accounts to be shut down.
Kindest regards

Regrettably not the first time this has blighted BVE. It was a small band of troublemakers in BVE circles who led Barney and I to decide closure of our joint Crotrainz/TSUK forum was the only option to deal with the situation. It was not an issue that affected any of the other sims which were being discussed on the board. Unfortunately these kiddies (and I'm assuming they were minors due to the immature behaviour) would not desist by any other means.

To be honest, irrational though it might seem, that experience even though maybe eight years ago, coloured my impression of BVE and the fact I've never really had much inclination to do much with it since.

Kudos to the mods here then for laying down the law at the outset, but do pay heed that BVE does seem to attract a particular minority in its following. Sort of the "Millwall" of train simming!

As regards Trainsimcentral it looks as if the parent site is back up again (it was certainly down last night) which is good news for genuine and sensible afficionados of the programme.

I remember it all to well unfortunately :x
At least one of them was definitely a schoolkid, although TBQH there were other issues at the time too.

Let old issues lie, and with any luck things will carry on.

Hello, I'm Quique (common nickname for Enrique, which is the spanish for Henry) and also was my username in Trainsimcentral.

First, many thanks for the welcome! Little story: I entered to the BVE world more or less 1 year ago. Then, I was searching a fly simulator for my nephews, and "landed" this forum, where I discovered BVE, and became BVEaholic!.

Second: I want to express my gratitude with Trainsimcentral and all its staff for almost a year of BVE wisdom.

Third: As my user name says (I hope so), I (still) use BVE 2, mainly because I love it but also because I have an old PC.

Hope the members of TSC will be reunited (Although I guess openBVE users already have their forum -the official-)

I do wonder what happened to Barney, I think he is still around as he pops up on the Auran Trainz forum from time to time but I think like me takes more of a back seat these days.

Hello all

I'm another from the trainsimcentral fold, plus the OpenBVE forum too. It is sad when a forum has to close because of the irritating habits of a small number, and particularly so when the trainsimcentral forum is so full of detailed information and questions asked and answered by some of the best designers, builders and coders in the (open)BVE world.

Anyway, looking to the future, hopefully between here and OpenBVE we'll all keep the learning curve well and truly open.

Thanks for the welcome.
