Chance of a clue?
Looks as the 58 on the left is stopped and the one on the right is arriving with a train - Worksop area?

No need for a clue yet Peter, your mention of Worksop is relevant.749006 wrote:Chance of a clue?

Come on Chaps, if I have given any clue as to the location then it is the utterance of the name of the borough of Worksoprfletcher72 wrote:No need for a clue yet Peter, your mention of Worksop is relevant.749006 wrote:Chance of a clue?

Sorry Spartacus, it is not Warsop.spartacus wrote:Warsop? Intriguing pic being two sets of empties.
Seeing as we have going for a bit on this one, I'll give another little clue insofar as these sidings are still in use today for the same purpose as depicted in the photo - that is for coal trains to reverse.

Richard

Yes, it is Woodhouse East Jn., which for the uninitiated, in on the Sheffield to Worksop line.spartacus wrote:Woodhouse?
The two 58's will have come from Cottam and/or West Burton and will have reversed here then headed more than likely to Barrow Hill or it's environs. Coal trains still reverse here today, but as most come from points to the North these days, such trains face a double reversal - firstly a mile or so down the line at Beighton Jn., then again up the hill here at Woodhouse.
Over to you sparts
Cheers,
Richard
