I just found that the Wiki, which some see as insufficient as a means to answer questions has a new feature: Some pages have "This page has queries" at the top, which obviously means that they are in the process of expanding/improving/clarifying the content. So, another means to see that something is going on and what.

Just read Rich Garbers piece, and would advise all the whiners and whingers that do not even have railworks yet to spend 20 minutes and read it, but you wont find anything that would be pallatable me thinks? Breath of fresh air and more.

Just read it too, very interesting. Wasn't aware we were viewed as the "Death Star" of the train sim community but it seems that's the case. Is it only me or are most people on these forums *not* out to condemn RS/RW outright? [Disclaimer: I have significant gaps between times I visit the forums]

Cheers,

Of course we're not out to diss RS/RW. What we want is a world class train sim going into the next decade and for many users the verdict is still out on whether RS.com can deliver it.

I was actually quite surprised to read Rich Garber's posts, I was under the impression from views stated on the previous RS America and on the Elvas Tower boards he was pretty disillusioned. Like most of us, I guess it's a love/hate relationship. While tempers may have frayed a couple of times on here and at T-S.com I don't think an always happy, always positive outlook is the way to go either. If something needs to be reported it needs to be done in plain language (subject to forum rules, common courtesy etc.) otherwise we are papering over the cracks. Equally if the sim does something well then say so!

It all adds up to having good communication from all sides involved.

If they know they can't please the "some" of us then why should they bother? Seems to me they will do what they are doing currently and people should give it a chance as Rich so eloquently pleads. The thing has only been out a couple of weeks.

I said this in another thread regarding the four new add-ons but it is also relevant to this one -
Acorncomputer wrote

Derek is stating the facts that are not available elsewhere and he must have the sanction of the Company to do this.

I see this as an acknowledgement of our concerns and perhaps a final realisation that we are not the mass buyers and we do care about this gamualtion. It may actually be a bit of a climb down by RS.com that they do not want to admit to, but it may be the start of a better dialogue with the Company, albeit by the side entrance.

Derek will tell it to us straight and we now know a great deal more about what is going on than we did before.

See .... I can be optimistic if the right circumstances arise :D

Hello
The blogs are cool but... are they the good communication process. All I can see and read seems confused.
The add-on news appears to me like a joke as the game does not run.
Anyway keep us on optimistic. :)
