I'm happy with Rail Works

I really like RailWorks as well, so much so that I still don't feel angry for paying full price for it.

(There are specific portions of it that I really want fixed but overall the product seems to be headed in the right direction.)

Sounds like you are a Trainz user, like myself.

Pretty graphics are ok, to hold the attention span of a 4 yr old for 20 mins.

But the advertising claim that RW is the most advanced trainsim yet, is pure waffle.

As I'm sure you're aware by now, there are plenty of threads for you to post your critical views about RW (and you are perfectly entitled to) but I'd suggest that a thread titled "I'm happy with Rail Works" is not one of them. Let's stay on topic please.

What would you suggest is more advanced? BVE4/OBVE are fairly convincing for freeware/opensource but dont suppost flashing aspects. Trainz is just a "game" IMHO. MSTS is way off. Impressive for its time but when I last used it, it was nice for setting up scenarios/AI traffic etc but for actually driving the thing on a UK route was completely unrealistic.
Im very happy with RW. I spend 40-50 hours a week driving the things for real, yet Im more than happy to come home and fire up RW. Yes it has bugs and the dispatcher does some wacky things but Im confident in the RS.com team and these will be ironed out. For an initial release, base product, we've never had a better platform to build on.

Yes, like a lot of us you have paid good money for Railworks. You can have your say in other threads. This thread was started by somebody who was happy about his purchase. If you are not happy then there is ABSOLUTELY no requirement to post in this thread. It is not about "point scoring" or what simulator is better than other simulators. Some people like to say they are happy and there is no requirement for people who are not happy to then post that in every single thread they can find.

Before getting totally off topic, I'll admit I'm a complete noob regards locomotives, physics, and rolling stock design in general. The screenshot looks very interesting but I'm not sure of the significance. I'll leave it to more knowledgeable folks to speak on this, and I think they are in another thread.

hi i have already posted in this thread, i am happy with railworks, i have seen the posted trainz thread, i have spent a few years playing trainz, have 2004, 2006, TC3 and dont know why but i paid my money for 2009WBE knowing it would be the same, another payment for another patch, since TRS2004 i have only been happy with TC3 and thats only really because of the route.

My first impression when hearing of Railworks was here we go again, and i guess i have paid for another patch, i was happier paying for more content or another route for rail sim to support RSDL but i plead with RSDL not to take that path,

please release updates for free, sell us new content and like the locos and stock on offer and give us routes like the isle of wight to bring money in
