Re: Bug and wish list
I dont have RS yet but from viewing video's you can see the brake on the 37 is wrong you have to turn it right to release break. Also I noticed signal still changes as soon as you pass it.

Re: Bug and wish list
I've just updated my Cornish Pasty scenario for RailWorks (awaiting approval). Despite arriving at Reading on time, I get the failed to arrive on time message.

It still seems to rain inside sheds and other buildings.

Re: Bug and wish list
*sigh* Adaptive anti-aliasing still hasn't been fixed with ATi Radeon HD4xxx series cards. This bug has been there since the beginning and is still there, clearly at this point a bug in one or more of the Kuju shaders (it manifests itself with various surfaces being erroneously transparent, such as the back face of the dials in the Class 47, cab interiors on the Black 5 and others). Yes, I'm using the latest Catalyst 9.5 drivers.
Signalling on leaving Newcastle is still broken (you still have to Tab past the gantry signal after passing over the bridge). Again, this fault has infamously been there from the beginning of RS. Apparently the included scenarios weren't very well tested as this manifests itself obviously in the supplied Evening Express scenario (the gantry signal is green until the Deltic coming in the opposite direction reaches the gantry, then it goes red and stays there with the signal on the next track (occupied by the Deltic) going green
. In the same scenario a signal on the approaches to Darlington (just before reaching the station on the through lines southbound) also sticks on red and again can only be passed by pressing Tab.
Not the best QC on any of the above apparently

Re: Bug and wish list
Before listing the bugs, I'll have to share that I witnessed cab sway when running over a junction during a scenario for the German Alpine route. However it seems to be inconsistent so just listing as something to look out for.
Bugs:
-"Final Destination missing" error on trying to create/run a new scenario or start a scenario imported from RS
-Rain in tunnels (still!)
-Anti-aliasing issue mentioned by PaulH2 also occures on Nvidia 8800GTS card for some objects although not any
of the default ones
Possible bugs:
Dispatcher still seems to not understand how to direct trains overtaking in a passing loop. I haven't been able to experiment with this much as each new test scenario requires manual xml file editing to become startable, but so far it's not looking good. Listing as a possible bug because trains are performing some complex maneuvers in the scenarios shipping with the game, so it could just that be that the way to make it work is nonintuitive.
Cheers,
jkxx

Re: Bug and wish list
As has been said, many of the items above have been there for a long time. However, many of them can be fixed with RW_Tools (new version v1.0.3 now does most of what RS_Tools did).
1. Can remove drivers from back cabs
2. Can remove passengers from coaches in sidings
3. Can make dead locos with no smoke or sounds
4. Can copy any route from RS to RW with a single click - this includes the IOW (to copy Assets for the IOW, just copy the Assets\RSDL folder from RS to RW manually).
5. Can also add headlight codes to many UK locos and add red tail lights to many freight wagons

Re: Bug and wish list
Continue on with the lights, make different light classes so each class can have an accurate representation of lighting.
My hope is enough money will be made by RSC, so that perhaps just perhaps they can hire another programmer or two, perhaps from the now defunct Aces team to help fix and improve the sim

Re: Bug and wish list
£500 to hire a programmer for an afternoon or two and properly implement cab and suspension dip/sway would be a welcome step forward. (And not just reinstate the original rather barmy way it worked prior to removal in SP1, where it looked as if the track was zig-zagging towards you). BVE managed this on a budget of £0!

Re: Bug and wish list
Perhaps, but BVE is cabview only isn't it? Presumably it's much harder if you also have to render these effects in external view.

A couple of things to add:
Amtrak Coast Starlight Express http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyoyk-8tHJc
We haven't even touched Japan yet, but I do think we need more polish to what got:
Shinkansen's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqqKA_HI-O8

A little fault:

At the Seebergbahn-route there are two signals placed right after eachother

Re: Bug and wish list
Cheers for that Mike, I have donated and downloaded the tool but im assuming this will change default files and that they will be reset back as soon as steam sees they have been changed.mikesimpson wrote:As has been said, many of the items above have been there for a long time. No disrespect to you but how can RS fail to correct what a one man team has corrected? RS should be paying you a nice wedge for your source and integrating it into RW
