Silverlink WFJ-EUS for WCE

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Silverlink WFJ-EUS for WCE

Post by hertford »

I'm currently composing an activity along the West Coast Main Line from Watford Junction to London Euston with a double set of Class 508s. I'd just like to know, what sort of stock can usually be seen along the West Coast Main Line along this section? I'd like to make this as realistic as possible, but on a custom timetable.

There are some issues that I have:
1. Do Bakerloo Line trains call as far as Harrow and Wealdstone? Or do they actually go to WFJ?
2. Do Silverlink Metro Class 313s go to Euston, or do they branch off at Willesden Junction?
3. What stops do Silverlink Metro trains make along the route compared to the Bakerloo line trains?
4. What tracks do Southern Class 377s use to get to Watford Junction? The AC slow, AC fast, or DC metro lines?
5. How often do Bakerloo line trains run? How often do Silverlink Metro trains run to WFJ?

1. The Bakerloo line currently terminates at Harrow, although there are proposals afoot to move the terminus north to Watford Junction. Bakerloo line trains also terminate at Queens Park (you may have seen the stabling/reversal shed which they use just north of the station).

2. Class 313s/508s run between Watford and Euston only on the DC, and between Richmond - Stratford on the North London Line or Clapham Junction - Stratford on the West London/North London lines.

3. The same stations as on the Bakerloo between Queens Park and Harrow.

4. From Clapham they go West Brompton, Kensington Olympia, North Pole Junction (to switch from DC to AC) before heading onto the WCML. There they either cross the fast lines or go under the fasts to join the slows. From Watford, essentially the reverse.

5. I'm not sure about the Bakerloo line frequency on that section (something you can check using http://www.tfl.gov.uk) but Euston - Watford trains depart every 20 minutes from Euston (platform 10) at xx.17, 37, 57 and from Watford (far 4 platforms), every 20 minutes as well at xx 21, xx 41 etc.

I don't know whether your activity will be before or after December 2007, but if its after, the Silverlink franchise ended and became London Midland and London Overground. London Overground now operate the routes previously run by Silverlink Metro.

Hope that helps, Harry.

Cheers.
Regards.

Dave.

Cheers photons66. The activity will be based before December 2007.
As 508301 on UKTS doesn't have Silverlink Branding on it, it will be themed that they just haven't had the time to put the branding on it yet.
As for the timetable, I'm theming it so that LUL Bakerloo services call at all stations, and the Silverlink Metro calls at all other stations as well as principal stations between Harrow and Wealdstone and Willesden Junction:
Watford High Street, Bushey, Carpenders Park, Hatch End, Headstone Lane, Harrow and Wealdstone, South Kenton, Wembley Central, Harlesden, Willesden Junction, Kensal Green, Queens Park, Kilburn High Road, South Hampstead, and London Euston.
This is so the activity doesn't become too boring and tedious for those who like to open the taps once in a while. Other than that, everything will be realistic. I'd say the activity is based around 2003, when Virgin HSTs and Loco hauled stock worked in harmony with the new Pendolino and Voyager stock.
