Does anyone know what will happen to Rail Sim 1 after the new release of Railworks? Will we still get support or will it be shelved?
Hope someone can answer this question.
Cheers

I think RSDL said they wouldn't support it anymore. Yet again probably another thing I've dreamed up!

I suspect your right. They probably want to concentrate totally on RW, which is what they should do IMO.buckbeak wrote:I think RSDL said they wouldn't support it anymore. Yet again probably another thing I've dreamed up!

Re: Rail Simulator 1
Hi,
RSDL supported Rail Simulator for 18 months.
There will be support helping users migrate from RS to RWs
RS.com's main focus will be expanding and supporting RailWorks.
regards
Derek

Re: Rail Simulator 1
My RS1 has just gone belly up and I was about to do another painful re-install from scratch.
I was thinking of just holding off for Railworks now however seeing as it's so close. Does anyone know if the way it will work will be to install all the RailSim add-ons etc in Railworks?? For example could I install Wales & Borders into Railworks?? or the extra sound packs and such like from Armstrongpowerhouse into Railworks just like we currently do with package manager??
I am strongly tempted to hang fire on re-installing if the above is the case

Re: Rail Simulator 1
RS.com have said that RS and RW will be separate applications, meaning that RS content will need to imported into RW, and implied that some content at least, ie routes, may require importation using rpk files rather than simply cut and paste. So you may want to wait.

Yes, but be sure to be registered with railsimulator.com to qualify for whatever upgrade offer is coming our way. 99% you are anyway, because you will have downloaded the DevTools long ago, so nothing to do then.
