Incredible stuff.
I don’t know of any other consumer accessible rail simulation that can match openBVE as far as operation of rail equipment is concerned. The cab motion and sound convey a sense of speed/movement that has been sorely missing in every other rail sim/game that we’ve had up till now.
As far Anthony’s work is concerned, it’s always been top notch but this really stands out.

Re: RailSimRoutes update
The level of realism is pretty disturbing (in a good way)for a rail simulation,I'll be the first to admit this is what I look for in a simulation, you actually feel as though your driving a train weighing a few hundred tons at speed with authentic sounds and train inertia.Probably my favorite simulation in the last 15 years, the bar has been raised yet again,I doubt anything will come close anytime soon. Thanks Anthony your work is outstanding.
Cheers for the update Jason.
I've got to go and watch again just in case I missed something

Yep, i agree, the level of realism does lift the simulator to new heights which would be pushed higher should there be moving AI. ATM the only other moving train in openBVE is the proceeding train on the Nothern Line.

Re: RailSimRoutes update
TBO I'm just happy looking at the graphics and soaking up the atmosphere of a believable rail network,Still cant get my head round the way that 87 snakes through the counrtyside looking at the carriages bank into corners, the physics alone are a killer feature in OpenBVE,the same can be said for the sounds-near perfect cant ask for anything more......hehe or can we?salopiangrowler wrote:Yep, i agree, the level of realism does lift the simulator to new heights which would be pushed higher should there be moving AI. I don't know of any other simulation that can offer this depth of realism, every time Anthony releases another video to show the progress loads of new features appear that we thought would not be possible
on a home PC.The Interest can only gain in momentum now from what has been achieved-far surpasses anything I expected for a British route.
So looking forward to the Rugby route and the freight services.
I'll stop waffling on now

Re: RailSimRoutes update
what freight. he is only doing the bit from watford-rugby via the Weedon curves not northampton were all the freight run.
Moving AI is possibly and could be a feature of Cross City v1.5 if it ever gets released unless South joins north as there is clips on youtube of moving AI on the cross city route so its not impossible. Id rather concentrate on the driving rather than the Scenery and the Atmoshpere its sometimes easy to forget your driving a simulator and drive as if it were real, ie; ignoring to lush graphics for intense concentration.

Hi,I don't know if the freight will be drivable but its in this video at about 5:35,there is some nice liveries also......oooooh British Rail Blue, moving AI you say that would be nice.I spend most of the time time in the cab on locals but take advantage of the outside views on faster stretches of line,Watford to Rugby is just the ticket.
