Well said, I agree!SaMa1 wrote:I hope sharp stencil shadows are there even more darker in bright sunny weather otherwise we are on route to cartoonish graphics. If you look outside in sunny day the shadows are indeed very sharp and dark plus blue sky makes everything in shadow side appear to have blueish tint. Really the softness of shadows is only depending on amount of clouds in sky.

The new sky looks nice. Other than that i cant see any evidence of improvement yet. It looks like we are still going to be stuck with the same non variable particle effects.

I was hoping they would have linked the smoke to the throttle for this latest version.nikos1 wrote:The new sky looks nice. Other than that i cant see any evidence of improvement yet. It looks like we are still going to be stuck with the same non variable particle effects.

Is there some nuance I'm missing when I look? How can you tell from a static picture?nikos1 wrote:It looks like we are still going to be stuck with the same non variable particle effects.

Re: Railworks screenshots
I can't see any new thing.
The important improves still doesn't appear.
Is there any list of new functions ?
Lights on the terrain?
Black smoke, White smoke or gray smoke in relation to the current actitude of engines in steam locomotives?
Functional level Crossing?
We don't need new rolling stock or new routes, the things we really need are features that give realism.
With new and improved features in RS2, developers could build all of other things like locos, addons, etc.
RailSimulator.com must to do those things that we can't do.
Please, see this topic in Railsimulator site and sorry for my very bad english.

Looks really nice.
Here are some real comparison shots of the cockpit(führerstand). It is bit weird that the control desk design varies alot depending on the unit.

First Man: I don't like it.
Second Man: Wadjamean? It ain't come out yet!
First Man: Oh - er - I still don't like it...
Second Man: Why?
First Man: Well, everybody says it's no good.
Second Man: Who's everybody?
First Man: Don't know, but they all say it's no good.
Second Man: Oh. I don't think I like it either then...

I'm actually not expecting any of these things in RS2:RW on release to be honest.Reppo wrote:I can't see any new thing.

I see this as a consolidation of content (no more Euro/US split) and a setting up of the base code for future enhancements (including the above items) but this will NOT be visible on release. Consequently they are including spruced up locos, new routes and some fluff to make it appeal to the "off the shelf" customers, because they are not going to buy it for some potential for extra functionality or fixes/consolidations.
I believe those will come after the release, as this is primarily laying the code groundwork for future expansion.
People should temper their expectations for RS2 in my opinion. The RS2 release won't change your life... now RS2 into the future, I'm trusting that they will have the base they need to take us forwards
