South Devon Banks V8

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Having senior moment, trying to install station signs from enamel folder. Instructions say to place the folder in C:\ Program Files\Rail Simulator \Source but can not find the source file.

Hi

Only developers use the source folder prior to exporting blueprints to the assets folder. Users would not have a source folder unless they were producing content.
This instruction does not sound right.

I see that John has uploaded version 9 so I will wait until that comes online and check it out but the Enamel Sign Kit was designed to help people make their own signs and then export them to Rail Simulator where the program can access them from the assets folder when loading the route.

I expect John will explain this further when he gets back online.

VERSION 9 !!!! On Monday I downloaded version 7, then set about getting all the assets needed. Yesterday I downloaded version 8 and today I was hoping to get it running.

I can't keep up :( :( :(

I do not think there is change to the route as such but John has cleared out backup files that are created in vast quantities when creating assets and serve no use and make the route file too large. I think version 9 is the same as version 8 but a fraction of the size.

Alan, I expect John will reply when they wake up in NZ.

Could someone tell me if it would be possible to run a HST down SDB?

Always wanted to know.

Cheers Nick :)

V7 had a fault so V8 was quickly uploaded, V9 is V8 but tidied up, I did not know you could until told so its 27meg insted of 100 and will load better..

HST were rampant on this line in semaphore days

If you can see the station signs at Totnes and Brent then you can ignore this error - it relates to older versions that were replaced but not deleted.

If not, you can place the updated signs yourself if you wish - they should appear under GWRSigns in the clutter section.

RSTools is telling me I'm missing some GWR signal parts. I have V2.0 of John Yelland's GWR signal pack installed plus his fixed distants, so can somebody identify where else these come from?

Thanks John.

I have V2 installed which supposedly replaced all previous versions, so I'm not clear why V1.1 is needed. I'm reluctant to reinstall V1.1 and risk overwriting the V2 assets. Can you confirm the missing items are from V1.1?
