Re: Class 170 at York
FTPE 170s usually run the Manchester - Hull services, but they sometimes fill in with extra capacity on services to York and back from Leeds during rush hour.
These are ex-SWT 170s which transferred up in an exchange deal for 158s because the RA5 of the 185s isnt suitable on the Leeds to Hull section. There are quite a few pictures of them around, including mine here at Piccadilly:

Re: Class 170 at York
Class 170s are diagrammed from Man Picc to York and Sheffield on certain night time trains. Also, they are used on daytime trains, in pairs, on Sundays.

Re: Class 170 at York
On Saturdays, the 18:03 Hull to Liverpool is a 170 (adds another at Leeds), then does the 22:30 Liv - York.
On Sundays, the 10:58 from Hull to Man Picc is 2x170, which then make the 12:02 Picc to York, 14:33 York to Man Picc, 17:02 Man Picc to Hull.
Hope this helps

Re: Class 170 at York
Are there any plans to use 170's more on the Sheffield route during the day or is that just night times etc?

Re: Class 170 at York
The plan is for most of the "South" TPE route to be 170 operated eventually.
The Hull route struggles during the day (off peak) with 2 cars, but is "too much" with 4 cars, so some trains will be going back to class 185 soon.
On the other hand, some of the Cleethorpes trains are either too full, or too empty for a desiro, and will therefore run as a 170 or 2 together.
Changes Start from the September timetable change.

Re: Class 170 at York
Thanks for the Arrivatrains, I was worried for a time that we'd be seeing 2 coach 170's on the peaktime Man - Sheffield section which would be horrible!
