Missing Wag File
Hi
I have a strange problem regarding a WAG file, when I start an wactivity I created it will load fine, however after I save it then reload it at the save point I get a message saying that
"train/trainset/EH2_IC225_WhiteStripe/EH2_DVT_WhiteStripe_rev.wag"
cannot be found, as I say at the start of the act it loads fine but not when I reload to a saved point, does anyone have any ideas please,
Cheers Stuart

Re: Missing Wag File
Hi Stuart, sorry I don't know the reason for this but doin a search among the download files, the following set came up :-
why not install it if you don't already have it, at least it will get rid of the error message.

Hi Bob,
I have already downloaded this, and have used it in an activity, I know it works because I have seen it in the activity, it seems strange that the activity will load from the beginning but when I save and go back to that point I get the error message :bad-words: , very anoying, I have downoaded the file again and checked the contents and there is no "EH2_DVT_WhiteStripe_rev.wag" file in there, there are 4 other wag files for the MK4 coaches.
Cheers Stuart

I think that is to do with the name mismatch between the name of the eng and wag files and the line next to Wagon IOr Engine in the actual file. That little thing that ConBuilder complains about so bitterly, yet doesn't seem to affect MSTS.
I seem to remember hearing that it was this naming convention that stoped saved games from being restored as the name in the Wagon or Engine line is the bit that gets saved for some obscure reason.
Best thing is to check the items in ConBuilder and if you get the name mismatch report, then run the latest RouteRiter and get it to fix all the eng and wag file names (the case-sensitive sorta option).
Cheers
Jon

Re: Missing Wag File
Hi Stuart, I have just downloaded that file as I didn't have it among my downloads, checking on the files in the folder the one you are missing is indeed not there but there is a EH2_DVT_Whitestripe_rev.eng file, so it must be as Jon suggested a fault in among the file names and you should run the file through R.R. or Conbuilder to correct it.

Re: Missing Wag File
I think you will find that the problem is in the "EH2_Class91_WhiteStripe_rev.eng" file. Change line 4 from "Type ( carriage )" to "Type ( Engine )". Be sure to save the file in unicode format.axell wrote:Hi

HI
Thanks Stuart
Thanks for the tip David but I still get the error message when loading the saved activity,I think you will find that the problem is in the "EH2_Class91_WhiteStripe_rev.eng" file. Change line 4 from "Type ( carriage )" to "Type ( Engine )". Be sure to save the file in unicode format.

You will not be able to save any activities you saved when the error existed because the sim is looking for a .wag file of that name and not a .eng file.
If you re-run the activity and save you should not have the problem. Save early and test it!!!!

Re: Missing Wag File
Hi Stuart, I should of realised that is what is required but I have been hard at MSTS all over the weekend, so I'm more tired than I thought I was.
As regards R.R. all you need to do is click on the Activities/Stock Tab and under the Red Banner below go through all the Tabs from 1-5 in that order and after each one print out the error reports that arise.
That way you can check off any changes that need to be done in your Trainset Folder Files, common errors are TrainCfg names in the Consist Folder which don't match the File Name above exactly.

Re: Missing Wag File
First of all, my sincere apologies for bumping such an old thread - I hope the UKTS team will forgive me for doing so just this once!
It has been some time since I used MSTS for more than a few moments, as 'real life' has been rather challenging for the last few years. I have recently been playing around with a few bits and bobs, and have only just stumbled upon this particular problem (whilst trying to load a saved activity which uses my NXEC White Stripe reskin).
Anyway, my apologies for letting this error slip through into the original upload. I am just about to fix & test this, and then will upload a patch, as well as re-upload the full (fixed) version, along with a few other things I have sitting on the hard drive.
Thanks for pointing out the problem!
Cheers
