Hi all,
So I've taken the plunge, having been a scenario creator for some time I have decided I fancy the challenge of building a route. However, as is the way with these things I have found a problem:
My Problem
As you can see in the above pic, when I try to export a route marker file I am being given a "File cannot be found" message. However, the file clearly is there, as can be seen from the tree on the left side of the editor.
I was hoping one of you more experianced route builders may be able to see what I am doing wrong and give me a pointer in the right direction!
Thanks,
Adam

Check your path with the path in the error message. You have specified a wrong path name in the blueprint.....Source vs Source Files

Hi,
I haven't done a marker file so I am no expert on them, but in your blueprint you have pendalinofan as the provider, but pendalinofan doesn't appear in your file tree.
It would seem the blueprint is looking for a path that doesn't exist?
Oops, Doug beat me to it!

Hi Adam
You do no need to put the whole path in. You have already provided the Provider and Product so you only need to add in the rest of the path.
You have also used the name North Cornwall Line. I strongly suggest that you stick to the naming convention of TheNorthCornwallLine or The_North_Cornwall_Line as the blueprint editor gets a bit upset with spaces.
The bit about pathing needs experimenting with but it is only occasionally that the full path is required and you definitely do not need the c\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Source bit at any time. The blueprint editor will always look in that folder anyway and does not need to be told that.
I suggest you check out the .xml files of some of the existing routes for help or use Mike Simpson's 'Tools' to create a blueprint which is a bit easier as he gives instructions in his help file.

Re: The Blueprint Editor, Joy...
I find the best way to get the paths correct is to right click on the relevant file and "copy filename" is among the options that pop-up. Select that then got to the place it needs to be entered and use ctrl+v to paste the copied filename in place. RS then pastes in the paths required, so saves you having to work it out!
Copy (ctrl+c) and Paste(ctrl+v) are also handy if you want to fill in that interminable list of display names for each country.
