Activity Analyser -is it safe to use Paypal?

Post by energize »

I want to register my copy of Activity Analyser and have decided to use Paypal to send the programmer the money so I can get the registration code. Now, it's the first time I've used Paypal - has anyone else had problems using Paypal to register their copy of Activity Analyser?

Hi energize, I have used Paypal a lot when buying things on E-bay since 2006 and had no complaints, more and more traders are relying on it for a method of making payments, while some only use that way because of its security.

You either love it or hate it. Like Bob ive used it lots of times without any problems, but ive also heard horror stories of people having their bank accounts robbed by people getting hold of their ID's etc. I think as long as you are using it with reputable traders - and im sure the Activity Analyser people are ok - you shouldnt have a problem.

As someone who uses paypal on our website, I've not seen ANY way to obtain any bank details from a customer who's paid with it.
All we get is an email telling us that me@sky.com has paid for his order.

All we can tell is your address, email address and name, all of which we need to fill the order.

I would say its as secure as most other things, with the added protection of not ever seeing the persons bank details.

If you want added security, open another bank account (First Direct is easy), link your Paypal payments to that account, and make sure you never leave much cash in that account - ideally just enough to cover your latest Paypal purchase.

I've never had a problem with PayPal; I have accounts on both sides of the pond and use them both to buy things and to transfer funds between the two countries. In my experience, it's been secure, and quick.

Other people may have had bad experiences - I know at least one person on UKTS whose view of PayPal is akin to it being the biggest criminal enterprise in history - but mine has been positive. Other people have also been mugged, burgled, beaten up, swindled, had their credit cards stolen and been injured in cars - but most people haven't.

Go for it.
