I have had a report that when running the Quick Consist Check in RR, if a rolling-stock item is shown in a consist as being missing from its correct folder, but is available in a different folder. Then, when RR asks if you wish to correct the consist file and you answer Yes. RR reports that it has corrected the consist but the new consist is not actually written.
I have tested here with exactly the same parameters as the user reported and find no problems (Using Vista Home Premium), but wondered if anyone else had any problems where RR had said it had fixed something but had not?
Thanks - Mike.

Re: Route_Riter - Quick Consist Check
Hi,
I use Vista Home Premium also But my RR seems ok. I've haven't come across that yet. Do you get errors running the consists in your sim or AE in any way like error reading traindatabase errors that kind of thing.
Is your Route Riter up to date also?
Thanks

Re: Route_Riter - Quick Consist Check
Only thing I've noticed, Mike, is that although the consist is updated, I didn't always remember seeing the listing window updated; I haven't done any specific tests, but this may be allied to what the other correspondent is referring to.

No, the listing window is not updated. Unfortunately I wrote that part of RR many years ago when I first introduced the program and I did not include the ability to update the listing (without running the option again), and rewriting the whole thing at this late stage would probably cause more problems than it solved.

Re: Route_Riter - Quick Consist Check
Well, at least I know I wasn't seeing things, Mike.
That was the only situation I could recall even close to what your other correspondent seemed to refer to; I just wonder if he saw the same thing, and assumed that if the window didn't update, then the consist had not been changed.
As for rewriting that part - don't! It works, so apply engineering maxim no.1 - if it works, don't fix it!
