Very low FPS in RS
I have recently been experiancing problems with FPS in RS, it has been very jerky with only a max of about 21 fps, with detail medium to high. I have an ATI Radeon HD 3870 x2 1GB graphics card, 8GB of ram and an AMD phenom triple core processer. Why is the frame rate soo low. It happens in BVE and MSTS, but not strangly, not in World of subways.? It also took about 15 minutes to load up the big layout. The problem has suddenly arisen, because it use to be excellent, and it would load in a couple of mins. I have scanned the computer with various anti virus softare, and there were no viruses decected. Please help me

Have you recently updated your video drivers? - If so roll back, or update. Another thing you need to check is, has your computer been seduced to a lot of heat recently (perhaps central heating temp has been changed)?
My system suffers a load of heating issues, specially during the winter months when we use the central heating. Tonight for example, my display drivers continuously crashed whilst I was playing on Euro Truck Simulator, I had to open the window for it to behave correctly. Believe it or not, heat does affect many factors in relation to your computers performance.

Sounds nasty! Check your hard drive with drivesitter pro, that will tell you if anything is amiss with the drive? Ox padd runs ok on my beastie but as oovee says heat is a bummer, thats why i got an lcs system keeps my cpu and gpu frosty.class313 wrote:Thanks for the advise guys, there seens to be more wrong with it than i first thought, i just tried oxford to paddington and it crashed the computer monumentaly, the computer would not respond to anything not even CTRL ALT DEL or even the restart button on the front.

Sounds serious mate! Drivesitter should show a graph even it it doesn't detect your drive properly! Does your system freeze at any other times? I would recommend a disk check just open my computer right click on your drive and select properties, select tools then check disk, dont forget to check the box to fix any errors, you will have to restart the machine to initiate it though and it will take some time.

Re: Very low FPS in RS
I have just have had some advise from a friend, and it seems that my computer was overclocked
when it was built, because it has stopped working completely now, and i suspect the graphics card has given up. I am going to send it back to the company and tell them not to overclock it, or get it seen to as soon as i get it back. This also means that sadly, my network south west route has to be restarted from scratch, because i have lost all of my data, i will inform you all when i have restarted.
