Calling People in AC land...
Is there anyone out there who has (or could take) a few photos of the roofs of some modern AC emus.
Being a soft southerner I have really no ideas what a pantograph looks like. So a few photos taken from above showing some good details of what else is up there on the roof would be most useful.
(This obviously indicates I might e building somethings that would make use of these shots....)

Which train's pantograph do you want? Some pantographs are different from anothers. I think I have Class 87 pantograph on photo and I don't have scanner. And that might not be useful since they are Faively pantograph and EMUs don't have them.
If you were wondering, the avatar is me on Planet Stooopid...

I have the 'skill' to build it, I just don't really know what it looks like.Stooopidperson wrote:If you don't care, maybe you can ask Tim Courts to use his Class 86 panto or SteelixB's EMUs.
And the trouble with copying what someone else did, is that you are then assuming that what they did was acurate.
With out wishing to sound rude, Are you in a position where you can get the pictures I asked for ? If not then really you are not adding much to the conversation are you ?

Dave,
I have Brecknell-Willis and Stone gaively panto's done with bases, they all measure up as per the scale drawings I have, the only thing I did was to simplify it slightly to take out any extra rods etc to keep the poly's down, if you are using TSM I can send you the parts/textures if you like, all you need to do is ask

Most modern EMU's
would have the same type of pantograph that is fitted to the
class 87 and class 321/323
there maybe very suttle differences
but nothing that should really alter it to much.
of cause as newer models of MU were built pantographs may also have been modified as well meaning the class of MU you are doing may not have the same exact pantograph as any other MU
so if you want to eactly spot on you will have to name it to someone.
if you are using gmax warriougu or somebody like that has done an excellant high speed pantograph as fitted to the 87 etc

I know very little of Ac electrics and equipment, but as I said thats down to living somewhere that has an electric system that doesn't get blown down by the slightest little gust of wind....
What I'm really more interested is the kind of other equipment up on the roof, like other H V cabling or the things that look like capacitors, the actual panto I think I've got reasonably well now (much better than the Acela thats for sure), but its all the stuff that might be up there.
