Aha! I've just had a brain wave! Would this little engine be a relation of the RH&DR's 'The Bug', by any chance?

All that outside valve gear gave me the idea......but then, The Bug has a very short funnel and cab, so perhaps not.

At last! The Bug is often described as essentially a standard Krauss design: all I did was lengthen the chimney and put a cab similar to those fitted to the engines supplied to Bosnia Herzogina in the 1880s. Incidentally, the design almost qualifies for Heywood status, with total adhesion and equal overhangs front and back....shame about the cab

I had a week's holiday the week before last,so nothing got done for 8 days! On the other hand, I managed to stop both ways to eat at the garden centre at Grosvenor and thus got some more pictures, so I now have some more buildings. At the moment I am working at the Balderton end where there is still much to do -

I have produced the signal box, but the outside framed goods engine is Frank Sandwell's. I am trying to find out what the station looked like, the loco should be entering the platform, and whether there was a water crane. Level crossing gates and some buffers on the siding are obvious omissions...

We are at the beginning of the end: I have made a list of things to do!

Because the whole purpose of the Eaton Railway was to carry coal from the GWR at Balderton to the Hall, so if it isn't going to look very bare, I need the standard gauge line, and to a similar level of detail as the narrow gauge one.

Excellent work as ever Andrew Have you done the SG track in the same way it was done on the Ffestiniog route? And will it be player-driveable or AI only?

Really excited to hear that the end is in sight, I'm very much looking forward to driving this route!

I have to admit that I don't know how it was done on the FR, but in this case it is twice size Tim Booth UK fine scale sections laid to the same coordinates and directions as base standard gauge track, which was then removed from the world file with comment statements (so I can put it back if I need to rebuild the track database). There isn't much of it, but the loco was driven to where it was shown by my own hand.

Ah OK, I think that's pretty much how it was done on the FfR, though I think that used default MSTS track rather than UKFS. Thanks Andrew, just wondered

As I mentioned before, all the hard work on a route is stuff that is nothing to do with railways: having been informed by one of my brothers that the Duke of Westminster took an active interest in cattle breeding in the late 19th century, I have spent some time producing non-Friesian cows, a herd of which are seen here at a respectful distance from Katie.

The Dean goods has become the standard inside framed one, a type of engine which fits with any period in the line's history, though the station itself did not open until 1901, 5 years after the Eaton Railway

Release is getting nearer, but having been heavily involved in many ERP projects where people quoted go-live dates which were optimistic by months or years, I am not going to give a date. The list of things to do is still being added to, but items are coming off faster than they go on...

Cuckoo's Nest is very nearly complete...
