Re: Thames Mersey route?
Hi,
I can't point you to any reviews I'm afraid, but it will be the best £4.40 you will spend, Massive Route with complete extensive Scenery, Steam or Modern Era (selectable), loads of Rolling Stock and 156+ Activities.
You won't regret it.

Re: Thames Mersey route?
Thanks Rob. I figured that it was a good route as there is a lot of conversations about the route on this forum and I certainly intend to invest in it. I was just wondering up front what route it took from Euston to up North? Does it go via Brum or does it use the TV lines etc...?
Cheers

Re: Thames Mersey route?
Hi geezertronic,
It runs from London Euston up the West Coast Mainline through Watford, Rugby, Crewe. It then divides to go to Liverpool via Runcorn and it also goes from crewe to Manchester Piccadilly.
Although maps are in the TM Route folder I can't seem to get them to display, something about the Help file is not recognised by Vista, sorry.

Re: Thames Mersey route?
Thames Mersey is one of the most popular routes for MSTS, other good ones are Dorset Coast, Cannock Chase, Burton Derby, NWEV2, especially if you like steam. There is also a Mid East Steam Era Route, (Kings Cross as far as Retford) and its good, but only available as a download, the steam era version, was never done on CD, but you can always make your own copy after installing it.

Re: Thames Mersey route?
I believe that Thames Mersey does not include B'ham New Street. To add this would involve a huge amount of extra work!

Re: Thames Mersey route?
Dave Corfield, who did the Thames Mersey, told me that he would not be expanding it, as it has more or less reached its limit. It would have been nice to include Birmingham, but I suppose there is a limit to what you can fit, all in one route.Tonysmedley wrote:I believe that Thames Mersey does not include B'ham New Street. Re: Thames Mersey route?
I suppose you could always do the EuropeanBahn trick of having multiple routes all joined together (WCML & ECML as examples) but to create a Rugby to Stafford (??) route via Birmingham and Wolverhampton would be some undertaking as I am sure the original route was.
Shame I am so at route building...

There are about 30+ Freight Activities Steam & Modern era's plus more you can download from UKTS, not all involve shunting.

Re: Thames Mersey route?
I definatley recommend Thames Mersey, alot of the community routes put some of the commercial releases to shame, NWE 2, Dorset Coast, i could go on
