Aren't they compressed as zip files - you need to open them with Winzip or 7Zip, and read the installation instructions. A lot of the files you download will not contain installers.

Hi

I'm not too familiar with these two files (although I have installed them in the past), but is there two Folders after you have unzipped the downloaded File that you need to move into your TRAINSET and Consist Folders?

I have moved the folders into the TRAINSET, CONSIST folders but still does not show up as a playable train

Winzip 7Zip. What are they and how do you find them?

Heres a link to the site for Winzip, there is normally a free trial involved so you can download the program. 8)

Both of these files include a Trains folder that needs to be unarchived into your Train Simulator folder - for a standard installation the MSTS top-level folder would be C:\Progam Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator.

Here is the start of the Installation Readme for 11882:

INSTALLATION - LUL D78 Stock train for MSTS V1.0.

Upzip to your MSTS top-level folder, ensuring that the winzip option "use folder names" is checked.

The train will install into: <MSTS-FOLDER>/TRAINS/TRAINSET/D78Stock

Important note:

Note that the D78Stock/Sounds folder will only contain 4 SMS files, which alias the WAV sound files of the LUL CO/CP V2 train. You must therefore have the CO/CP train installed. This greatly reduced the size of this kit, and will also save you disk space. The CO/CP V2.0 train can be obtained from UKTS as file # 2955, and the CO/CP V2.3 update as file # 5456.

The file for 2955 says:

INSTALLING THIS TRAIN - V2 UPDATE

This train may be installed as a complete new train (if you do not already have the previousBeta 1.0 version installed), or installed "over the top" of the Beta 1.0 version. In the later case, ensure that you select that old files are replaced. Note that many files have changed in this release and many new ones (the night cab) have been added.

To install, extract the contents of the zip file to your MSTS top-level directory, making sure that the "use folder names" checkbox is ticked. This will automatically install the train to:

<MSTS-HOME>/Trains/Trainset/LURstock/...
