Rails, sleepers, ballast, undergrowth? You've got me guessing unless you have unwanted gantries.

If you look ahead of the loco you can see the texture difference in the track, also somelocos the quality of them change as they pass through.

A similar effect occured with the Dorset Coast v4 (?) track texture, not sure how it can be cured. Have you changed your visual settings at all i.e. screen resolution?

Nothing has been changed and its happening on all routes. The graphics seem to be on a lower setting in the distance. Im going to re-install the drivers and see what that does.

Hi
Yes its been discussed over the years, some of the better graphics cards can help to eliminate it, but generally its a limitation of the game.
We used to say wait for KRS, unfortunately I've seen shots of KRS doing the same, but hopefully MSTS2 will not.
Cheers

Hi Andy,

I am glad you solved it. :D

What may help others that this affects, would be the name and specs of your graphics card.
If/when people change theirs thay can keep it in mind.

It looks as if the graphics options have been turned down a notch or two to so as to not show as much distant detail. Just to be on the safe side, check all your graphics settings in the game, and run msconfig to ensure that the game is setting its own parameters to your graphics capabilities

Hi Andy,
I think BarryH meant mprofile and not msconfig since the latter does not control graphics.
Sorry to be pedantic!

Indeed I did, and thank you for the correction; it's nice to see another phloccinaughcinihilipilificator on here. As it's been close to two years since I did anything much with MSTS, it's hardly surprising that the memory is a little less reliable than it used to be...
