AI Traffic speed

Post by DESPATCH »

Is there any way of deciding the speed of this traffic? I have created an activity with a service ahead of the player but it seems to be very slow although I have left the station stopping boxes unchecked. On some activities the fast trains go really fast my train is not a long one so it 's not the heaviness of the load.

Yeah go into the relevent Ai service editor and go to start speed, then input the number you want.
Hope that helps

That wont affect the speed the train runs at, it will only make it start on the move at whatever speed you set.
The only way to make it run faster is to alter the performance factor in the service window. By default it is set to 75%, you can increase it to 100%. You will also have to alter the performance value in the timetable if its a passenger service. It shows there as 75% by default also, so you should change that to whatever setting you choose in the service editor window.

When following an AI tran it sometimes stops to let the player train catch up, thus appearing to go slow.
Solution is to path the AI service away from the players path, so you only get held up a little bit.
