I tried a scenario yesterday that called for "grey van " in the stock list and I noticed that as the consist containing the grey vans passed the train I was driving, all that was visible of the grey vans was their shadows and the couplings at both ends...looked rather eerie!
My system runs RS without stuttering or pauses at the highest detail levels so I am sure it can cope with the demands Ok, but I wondered if it may be a graphics card/driver issue.
I have a Radeon HD 4870 1Gb using the 8.12 drivers.
Any clues to stop it happening?!
(apologies if this has been dealt with before, but I did a quick search which showed up nothing)

Re: Invisible wagons
I am guessing that you didn't delete the blueprints.pak after downloading the vans. This isn't necessary with every download but it should state in the readme file.
If you don't delete blueprints just the couplings show, I have done it loads of times.

Re: Invisible wagons
I believe it's an ATI card issue. Either update your graphics card drivers at http://www.ati.com or you can try switching off the Adaptive Anti Aliasing in the graphics cards control panel.
Re: Invisible wagons
My drivers are up to date but I will certainly try turning off the adaptive anti aliasing.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Invisible wagons
I found that you have to delete the pak files every time I run the sim, I have an ATI radeon 4870 or I get the same problem.

Re: Invisible wagons
Thanks Keith, I'll try that too.
Bit of a pain though, even using "Pak delete".

Re: Invisible wagons
It can also mean that you placed the folder you downloaded folder into the communal folder, rather than, say, the "Standard Van" folder. Or you had another folder inside the folder you placed into the correct place. Have another look-see and check it out. These things require a bit of care, as even I seem to have made mostakes and overlooked some things, and got only the couplers, but you usually see this error immediately if you're manually placing rolling stock, and it's not what you expected ! That way you can find problems easily, rather than creating consists with an external program, etc. Hope this helps somewhat.
