Some of the contributors to the forums have recently passed significanty milestones in the number of their postings. This prompts me to say how much I personally owe to them. That I can change an .eng file in just an evening or alter a sound file in only a few hours is due to the help I have unstintingly received. Without that help, I would not have managed the little that I have.
Looking at postings in the past it is incredible how much patience has been shown in dealing with some problems that seem to come from people who perhaps are not bright enough to run Train Sim -- that probably includes me!

Anyway, many heartfelt thanks to all of you.

I would echo your thanks Tony. Although i am pretty competent at some things msts, mainly to do with activity creation which is what I do most, Im pretty much an ignoramous when it come to other things. I, too, have had masses of help at times from many people. Without such help, especially in the early days, I would probably have thrown msts away.

So from my part, If ive helped anyone im glad I was able to, and to all those who have helped me over the years, I extend my thanks too.

Patience is their virtue - despite the thought that it is seldom found in women and never found in men. This quote was often thrown at me by my late but dear old MUM.

There are some very talented people out there and its through them i have and still enjoy my train simming, i'm lucky in that i am now retired and have a hobby that keeps my mind active [sometimes too much!!]

I'd like to offer my thanks too - after I first started there were plenty of times when I would probably have given up without the help I found here. Nowadays I try to give back as much help as I can, but I still rely on all our generous content makers.

Without the help of the many talented people on this forum, then I would no doubt completely have ditched MSTS, rather than coming back to it after discovering the site.

Hi Everyone, can I just add my thanks to all those that have helped me in the past, there are still a few things I don't fully comprehend but I have learned so much from the Forum over the last two years.
I look on the people who are willing to help and advise beginers as new Family members to make up for my lack of help I got from my real ones when I was younger.

I would just like to say that I also agree with all that has been posted above.

I would also like to add 'my' thanks to the 'many' who have helped me along with my adventures with MSTS and trying to understand some of the mysterious ways of MSTS and only hope that it continues for a long time to come.

I'll just add my two penor'th. If it wasn't for these forums, I wouldn't have learned to handle MSTS half as much as I can. I still can't build routes, model in 3D but have learned how to add objects, do activities, and handle most files with a text editor for changing eng and wag files, dealing with adding sounds etc etc. I admire all those who have built upon MSTS, providing routes, stock and scenery items and those creative activity writers such as Laurie, although I don't run many activities, prefering to make up my own runs with lots of traffic running. I am not a shunter enthusiast, but prefer running a route for video making with Fraps.
So thank's to everyone who has made MSTS what it is today and I am glad that there are still many members who have remained loyal to it, now that KRS is with us. But you all no my views about KRS!

I would agree with all of the comments above.

These forums are a source of information and knowledge. When I first came on the forum it was on the same day that I first realised that there was more to MSTS than the default Settle - Carlisle route and I bought my first CD which was one of Big Ant's (CC3)

I had to ask Big Ant about one of his activities and got a friendly reply.

From this first contact in 2003. I have learned to create activities, play with changing sound files and cab files. Every time I asked a question, I would get a posative reply and in turn I hope I am doing the same if someone wants to pick my brains.

For a few years I spent my time creating activities to make players as involved with sim as possible.

I am now trying to plug a hole in the Loco department as I finish of my second model for MSTS after learning how to use 3D canvas with help from Doug and Decapod who both have a vast knowledge of the sim and 3DC.

I have had difficulties getting to grips with textures and I know I will need more help. I know there are a couple of guys out there who are always willing to offer help and encouragement on this subject (ianmacmillan and Dee4141)

This forum is about knowledge and most importantly, sharing knowledge. All those members of the forum I have learned and taken advice from, I take my hat off to you and hope I can pass knoledge on likewise.

I think I may have made some friends in the process as well

Same as everyone else has said so far, I'd like to thank all the people who have pointed me in the right direction over the 3 years I've been here (doesn't time fly ).
I would consider myself as capable in most departments (apart from rolling stock creation, haven't tried to get the hang on Gmax and haven't the money for other programs) and this has greatly increased my enjoyment of the sim. Hopefully I can get Alderney done before everyone gives up on MSTS (which might not be a long time yet) but I'm loving every minute of doing it - quite a lot of minutes included there I can tell you .
Of course, had I not found this site, I would never have got to know this community and the knowledge it brings. I only wish I'd got here sooner.
