Routes gone missing etc.

Post by ThomasTelford »

Hi Folks. :D

I wonder if anyone can give me a few pointers please.Yesterday i got a new route to try out which is the Blackpool tram route. When i got home i downloaded it and it works fine both in day and Illuminations types as far as i can see no problems there. There is however one big problem and that is that when i try to go into Trainstore i get the following message:-

Trainstore has found the following folders some of which may have been created by a system restore.
c:\Trainstore\routes(2)
c:\Trainstore\routes(2)
Trainstore cannot continue until these folders have been investigated and either removed or renamed.

It'll let me drive the Blackpool route as long as i click on the Train Simulator icon but like i said when i click on trainstore i get the above message. The only other route that seams to be there is the Thames-Mersey one and that's only showing the last activity that i played. How do i go about correcting this problem?

Many thanks Thomas Telford.

If you copy the duplicated folders to a new folder outside of both of your trainstore and trainsimulator folders and then re-run train store again it should sort everything out. If you do find you still have problems you can copy anything missing from the duplicated folders. When you are happy everything is working as it should you can simply delete the temporary folder holding the duplicates.

You shouldnt use system restore without backing up msts first as it does wreck your installation :(

Hi. :)

Thanks for your help,so far with a lot of help from my brother we've managed to get the routes back (well there showing in the Trainstore routes box anyway) and the consists are there but not the activitys there still somewhere in never never land :( .As there ar'nt any activitys for any of the routes apart from the Blackpool one Trainstore won't let me do anything,a message comes up

'No valid activity was found for this route'
(MSTS Requiresat least one valid activity for you to be abole to explore the route)

Can i run the discs from which they came or is there a better/safer way?

I downloaded the Blackpool route after my computer had a system restore as the computer had been having problems, that's why i think only the Blackpool route is running ok.

Once again any help would be great.Regards Thomas Telford. :fadein:

If you have the CD's just run the installer again and install over the top of the original.

Hi Thomas,
I am no PC geek but have you tried Search for (.act) from the Start Button that should show where ths acts are lurking.

You probably have but might not have done. :-?
