Downloading Directx 10 Error

Hi

I am having problems trying to download Direct X 10 for KRS. I have been to the MS website and selected it for download. It downloads a small file first then says:



I have tried this a good few times and keep getting the same error. I dont think i am getting the best graphics at the moment as I am using DX9 that came with the KRS install CD.

Can anyone tell me please what may be wrong?

Its a problem at Microsoft's end I believe as I get the same error. Perhaps you could try the August 08 one instead.

I was wrong I think, there is only one web download link. You could try downloading the November redist version

Just download the whole package, run it and put the contents into a separate folder and then run the DX setup from the folder.

Thanks john i did not want to just randomly download files just wanted to make sure i was getting the correct one.

I will give it a go now and see how KRS looks then.... DX 9 is blurry.

Would you say i am loosing some quality here?

I have atmospheric filtering set to 8, when i increase to 16 it all goes to pot. The coaches futher towards the rear look quite pixelated to me.

I am having problems trying to download Direct X 10 for KRS.

KRS is not using any of the DirectX 10 updates contained in the Nov. 08 DirectX redistributable. KRS is a DirectX 9 application not DirectX 10.

When you update your DirectX with the redistributable or the web updtate you are updtating DirectX 10 and 9 if you are using Vista.

Increase antialiasing value and increase mipmapping value in your graphic card settings.
