Pantographs

Post by tender »

Hi, does anyone know if you can have an EMU so that when the pantograph is lowered it still runs? Because Class 313 units operate both on AC and DC power, and so id like to have it so that I can change from one to the other. Is it something to do with the .eng file?

Hi Kris
I don't think you can.
However if you copy the eng files, rename them slightly, and make them into diesels, they would run anywhere.

In case anyone else has the same idea I have found out that EMUs work with the pantograph down if they are set to "Diesel" but by doing this you cannot raise the pantograph, so the best option is to create two consists, a DC one (set to "Diesel") and an AC one (set to "Electric").
