No Keyboard Control

Post by CajunRon50 »

I continue to trudge through this effort to get one of my MSTS models into RS. I've got the model textured, animated and working in RS. I've got the couplers positioned (but not coupling). My current problem is I can't get keyboard commands to work. I can go into the cab to control the loco but the keyboard commands don't respond.

I've downloaded the Inputmappers from the Kuju website, put them into my directory structure and copied the file names "default_stopgo", "default_intermediate" and "default_expert" into the respective slots in the engine blueprint but still no keyboard commands.

I've gotten to the point I am by the great help from knowledgable people on these forums and so once again asking for help. As always, any help is greatly appreciated

Hiya,

You dont need the input mappers, and infact what you have done may cause problems rather than solutions. So I would remove them from the remapper fields.

The best thing you can do is download the latest RSDevDocs installer. This has a 'How to create and Engine' document which decribes everything you need as a minimum to create a working train in Rail Simulator.

Yes, I have been using this document. It is an excellent document and really is the reason why I have gotten over the "I can't do this" hurtle and I'm making this attempt. Case in point, I looked back into it as you suggested and found my error. I had copied the wrong file name for the associated control values script into my engine blueprint.

Thanks
