Texture File Problem

Post by mickrik »

HI there

I was feeling a bit pleased with myself a little earlier, I have produced my first texture files with correctly laid out rivits for my 8F. I have done the smokebox, both cabsides and the roof which I have saved as individual tga files with identifiable names. It all looked ok in 3DC so I re-exported the model and created a new shape file. I have exported the tga texture files through aceit and they are all in view in the loco folder as ace files.

The problem I have is the new texture files are not showing in shape viewer, only the original texture file which contains the images for the rest of the loco.

I have had a look inside the s file to see if the correct texture file names are showing and they appear to be correct.

any idea what I may have done wrong?

Are the textures all square with sizes of bases of multiples of 2 (64x64, 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024 etc)?

Just checking as this happened to me recently when I inadvertently created an ace of non-square shape.

Hi there

Some progress is being made,

I have being doing more experiments with textures and making plenty of mistakes.

I have got the tender body panels on a separate texture file,. Hopefully this will allow for reskins as this tender was used on some Black 5's, Jubilees, and rebuilt Royal Scots.

I hve also made up some rivited panels for the loco but I am still not that happy with the rivits, they look a little clumsy compared with the ones on the tender which I made a little differently. I will go back and redo the panels for the loco I think.

I might bring it to Think Tank on Saturday

here are the latest screenies
