Creating Terrain Decals Using Gimp (Updated 13 May 2009)

Post by alexedwin »

Hi All

Just thought I'd share my tutorial here for creating terrain decals using The Gimp.

Tutorial is >>Here<<
This download now contains Word 2003 & PDF formats updated to Version 2.1

Tutorial has been completely rewritten and it's now a lot quicker & easier to use. :D

Cheers
Alex

Would you consider making this post sticky please :D

A nice guide.
I would do the frame like this:

Step 4: Select Black instead of white, i.e., initially it is fully transparent
Step 5 remains unchanged
Step 6: Fill the big rectangle in the middle, with white.

That way, you don't need to worry about hitting the small margin.
The result is exactly the same.

I knew someone would come up with a better way for that part. :D
I'll check it out and may change it.
Thanks mate!
