I am thinking of upgrading my HDD to around 500Gb and am wondering if there's any realistic maximum size of MSTS installation that one could operate with without significant loss of performance. My routes would include big ones like Thames Mersey, DCv5 and ECE parts 1-3. Also of course I would have Train Store installed and Bin patch. Could I go successfully up to a couple of hundred Gb?
Any advice, please?

Re: Size of Installation
You would have to have helluva lot of stuff to get your installation that big - however it wouldn't surprise me if some people on here have got something close to that.
I don't see why MSTS could not cope with this, provided that you use Train Store, as this allows MSTS to load only the required files no matter how many files you have installed in total.

Thanks for that, Tim. I thought MSTS would cope, but second opinions are always helpful!
