Hi all, I've got a couple of things I'd like to know either if they can work in MSTS, and if so how to do them.
1) Is it possible to drive from a trailer while using the loco (coupled behind it) as motive power? From my experiences MSTS only uses a percentage of that locomotives power when it's technically a helper loco, so is it possible to use a higher percentage of this power?
2) How do I edit a sound file (.sms) so that the only sounds are horn and bell? Is it safe just to delete the sms entries for the other sounds which are unwanted?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Re: A couple of questions
Hi Tim
1 Yes....... and yes increase its power to compensate.
Alternatively you can make the trailers powered and give them all 75%....( if you've running units )
2. Yes.....just remember to reduce the total number of streams.
Alternatively add the line Volume (0.0) to every stream you don't want to hear.
Streams ( 10
Stream (
Priority ( 6 )
Volume (0.0)
Triggers ( 31
Initial_Trigger (
Cheers
