Hi RCH 37401
Welcome to the forum
I think before anyone can help with this they need to know what you have tried to do etc?
It would also be of help knowing whether the file is a zipped file or an RPK file?
Some files have a self installer included others require you to install the loco using the package manager in Rail Simulator.
There is usually a read me included with downloadable content which will advise on how to install your loco although sometimes this can be omitted
There is a beginners tutorial on the left of UK Train Sims home page that is very helpful and informative about installing downloaded content into Rail Simulator read this carefully.
One word of caution back up your Rail Sim Folder prior to installing new content.
I hope this is of some help to you
kind regards Stephen.

Hi
It is at the moment a Zip File. When I double click, it comes up with a box saying to continue or to Cancel and when I click Continue, nothing happens. The system is Windows Vista Home Premium.
Thanks

Re: Growler37's DRS 47802
Hi again
What I do is extract the file into my documents if neccesary create a temp folder so that you know where your loco file is located
Once extracted you may be faced with either a package installer in which case clicking this will install the file or it may be in the form of an RPK file in which case you will need the package manager.
This if you havn't got it already is available from http://www.railsimulator.com
Once you have installed the package manager into rail simulator, you will find package manager in your rail sim folder
Navigate your way to your Railsim folder using windows explorer look down the list you should see packager double click on this and you will see package manager now double click on this and it will open a dialogue box you will need to point the package manager to the RPK file you wish to open select browse and navigate your way to where you placed the RPK file double click it and package manager should then install the file.
For screen shots showing the package manager in action please refer to the Rail Sim Tutorial on the left hand side of the home page of this web site
The beginners guide will show things alot clearer than trying to explain it to you .
As a beginner you can't beat screen shots guiding you through the process of installing a loco or other content into Rail Simulator after all pictures are worth a thousand words.
It is not unusual for you to have to create a consist yourself in Rail Simulator again look at the tutorial and all will be revealed.
I hope you are able to follow what I have said to you there are video tutorials available on rail simulators website and also on you tube.
I hope this helps kind regards Stephen.
Ps Another way of opening an RPK file is to right click and select "open with" browse through options and select " package manager" from then on if you left click an RPK File Windows will use Package Manager to open and install the contents into Rail Simulator.
