RGB Colour Code - Bauxite

Post by dlljones »

Does anyone out there know the RGB Colour code for BR Bauxite? I've tried to find it on the Web without success.

ColorCop is a very helpful utility for determining colors. Check it out.

Yep came across that useful site when researching for the bauxite colour. There are some other good ones around as well.

RS tends to lighten textures considerably, so you may need to adjust the colour to get it looking right in game.

Hi LB

That is great info, if you have similar information regarding other rail colors would you consider sharing them ?

It would help greatly with consistency for any stock builders. :D

I do have several BR rolling stock colour charts but I don't recall where I got them from, so I'd better not post them up here - PM me if you want further stuff

For station colours here's a good source:

Thanks John

I had not seen them :D

I am really looking for RGB numbers though, yep I can grab it but don't know how accurate it will be from the screen.

It would be really nice to have default color RGB codes together with suggested ambient , Diffuse, specular settings for all the common colors

Cheers

The screen won't make any difference. If you load those swatches into your bitmap application and read off the RGB values, you will get them exactly as they were created.

But I agree on suggested ambient, diffuse and specular settings to go with these, and also as longbow pointed out, RGB values that look right in-game would be very helpful indeed.

Thanks Paul

I have never done a comparison with grabbing the RGB from a swatch,
If I get time I may make a set of 1024 textures that are streaked, grime, sooted etc with an Alpha channel in the major colours.......... they could be used as a starting point for anyone texturing.

If you approximate 1024 to 32 feet (half coach length) or loco boiler, firebox, smokebox graining texture etc should match the Kuju stuff near enough.

I could definately use these myself right now :D

Cheers
