Bristol - Sheffield V5

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Bristol - Sheffield V5

Post by jrdurgan »

I recently downloaded the Bristol- Sheffield V5 Set up by John Griffiths. I also downloaded and installed all the listed content required for the Route. I am using the UK version of Rail Simulator. Out of the eight or nine scenarios available, there are several that fail to load. I have run the loging function trying to fine out what the problem might be. It appears that there is still missing content. Is there a good utility available anywhere that will help me identify missing content.

Thanks in advance for your advice on this matter

Hi there, did you download and install all the rolling stock items listed underneath the download V5 page?
Watch the carmine and cream stock as you need the newer version with the BG and SK bogies, delete the old original ones...

Try running it in 'edit' mode to see if all stock is showing. Open RS tools TMB and go to tools - 'check routes and scenarios' - 'check stock used in scenario' see if you have everything listed

I have V5 of this roure. Am i right in thinking this route only goes as far as Burton? I did the 1st activity and when I reached Derby there was nothing there. Also I noticed you need a telegraph post among other things. In the readme it says you zip 3 to Procedural scenery and other files in to the texture files. How can I tell which files need to go where?

Thanks

the route has track as far as Derby but the scenery is only complete as far as Burton, I am just getting on with it now so will be up soon.

The telegraph poles just unzip the file and open the procedural folder
Copy and Drop the 3 texture files into your

C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\Procedural\textures folder

Delete your Blueprints.pak file from

C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator folder

easiest way as I did it was just to

'copy' the yellow 'Procedural' folder

and paste it in

C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery

and say 'yes' when asked if ok to replace all the files.

Hello

I'm installed the V5 with package manager and it seems to work in Free Roam, but the scenario's won't load...

Is it because I'm haven't put some engines in there?

If so which engines do I need?

Thanks

Hi JasonDD and welcome to the Forum,

As stated above, use Mike's RS Tools to check for missing Assets (Engines).

I started back on the route going on from Burton to Derby after I finished the Chichester - Portsmouth route, but then all the GWR loco's started to appear and I got distracted and started the South Devon Banks route, fear not will get back to it soon, I will revamp it too as I have learned a lot more tricks and there have been as lot more add ons.

That is great news. I know it is greedy but I was hoping there was more to come on the Chichester - Hayling Island - Portsmouth route!

Keep up the good work.
