Class 458 [Juniper]

Post by Backfoot2002 »

I did start this some time ago but ran into problems with the unit working in activites. After some very kind help from Mark (Nicolafan06) and some new 2048x2048 textures the unit now works fine in the sim, both in explore mode and activites. This should hopefully be released shortly, most likey next week as long as no more problems are found.

Here are some shots, you will have to excuse the missing lights in the activity setup, Waterloo is tight for the number of lights on the tile, mainly due to all the signals. I have taken out the 3rd rail spark lights to try and counter act this though.

Hello Anton,

Those 458s look superb, they're the missing link in the MSTS SWT fleet. I was thinking about asking if a 458 was in the works, but it seems my questions have been answered. I'm looking forward to the release of them.

Regards, Doug

I can honestly say these are truly worth the wait, I for one never thought this model would see the light of day due to it's original problems, so it's been fantastic to have had even a tiny part in helping get it out. *hugs the community in general*

And with the soon-to-be-released NSE 442s we're spoilt yet again!

Anton, Mark and any others involved: thanks so much.

Fanastic anton. I remember when i was trying to test the bug ridden version for you and it was getting nowwhere. :( I honestly thought it would never happen.

But it has, and i'm happy. Roll on the reading services! - lol. :)

I remember those days too Ali. I told Mark about the problem and he narrowed it down to the trailers causing the error. Luckly some time ago Dave sent me his very old Class 460. The cars are near enough a perfect match into the 458 unit and, don't suffer from the same problem as the original 458 trailer of crashing the simulator.

Supreme work there Anton, you’ve managed to capture the look and feel of that unit perfectly. Well done! :)

Thanks for that. :)

I have done another running number 8005 with the destination of Reading. I have also made quite a few tweaks mainly to the undercarriage, front lights, weathering and some other bits and bobs.

Just need to add the updates to '8009' now.
