Digital Traction's Mk2E Coach Pack now available!

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Digital Traction's Mk2E Coach Pack now available!

Post by g0fthick »

I'm pleased to announce that Digital Traction's first commercial product, the Mk2 Coach Pack is now available on our website which you can find here.

The product consists of:

Mark 2E Tourist second open
Mark 2E First open
Mark 2E Brake second open

Each with 3 livery variants depicting BR blue/grey, Inter-city Executive and Inter-city Swallow. Custom built passenger views are also included and are aliased to the BR blue/grey and Inter-city Executive livery TSO coaches. The pack is finished off with 5 scenarios to put the coaches to good use on.

Good to see this out but £9.99 is a tad expensive in my opinion considering the Class 66 + scenarios + cab + sounds was also £9.99. Now this pack includes Mk2s + scenarios + passenger view but not the sounds so surely the price should correspond. I guess this is still unchartered territory though so you could just be testing the water.

They look lovely - just what's needed for the ECML, and to go with the Intercity liveried class 47. Maybe a smidgen expensive in comparison with other products, as the previous poster suggested. What we could really do with is a MkI/MkII catering vehicle of some sort.

Unfortunately, timing was not on our side. We realised, last minute, that the catering coach we wanted to do wasn't in our inventory. Some furious searching has brought it to light, and it's now in construction. All those who purchase this set up to the release of our MK1 RBR will get said coach free, and once the coach is released, the set price will be adjusted accordingly. Hopefully this will make the price of the set a little more palatable, I only wish we'd been able to include the coach from the beginning.

Yeah I agree, a Buffet coach would be great, instead of using mk3s

Alongside the buffet coach we should also have some additional liveries that should cater to a variety of tastes which will be free to those who have purchased the pack. We should have some more information on that soon.

Great news that you'll be working on a Mk1 Restaurant, were there ever any Restaurant Mk2Es? I'll definitely consider getting these tomorrow.

There were no restaurant MK2s excepting the Manchester Pullman vehicles, BR always ran them with MK1 catering vehicles, and refurbished a set of RBs to cater for this traffic, creating an RBR, Restaurant Buffet Refurbished, which was sandwiched between MK2 open stock.

Overmarze, the specular has given us headaches, it may be subject to a patch, depending on what the general consensus is.

Pullmans are something we may do, but we haven't decided to do any yet.

The MK1 RBR will come out, as I've already stated, free to all who buy before it's released. There's no vapourware here, I myself want such a coach for my own trains! Unfortunately, it's not ready right now, which is why we didn't include it.

Tazman, scenarios are included with the pack, the others are extras we're doing as we see fit.
