HI Paul, the only place I got them was from one of the commercial releases by BATS, I think (but can't swear without checking) it was the Woking-Basingstoke.

The French ones, Fleche d'Or are free though

Cheers

Hallo!
You can find it at http://railatelier.free.fr/models/modeles.htm Download the "La 231E Chapelon en livrée SNCF". You can run this engine without headboard or with an English or French Golden Arrow headboard as an FA. In the folder of this engine you'll find the files ecusson_flechedor.s and ecusson_goldenarrow.s together with flechedor.ace and goldenarrow.ace. I think it shouldn't be a big problem to use them on another engine.

Keep on steamin'!

Hi Dietmar, thanks for reply.

Have downloaded the file you said, but unfortunately, it's all in French and does'nt make a lot of sense. If someone has already done an English conversion maybe they can help please.

Hi Roger, thanks for reply, Is woking - Basingtoke still available as BATS site now defunct and more Importantly is there any news that they may resurface. Had some great stuff from the BATS Site which, unfortunately I lost due to a mega computer crash, and had not backed up elsewhere. My boo boo, won't happen again, to expensive.

Hi Paul - I think your best bet for Woking-Basingstoke would be ebay - none available right now but keep looking

The file from railatelier (a source of great models in general by the way) does indeed appear to have the Golden Arrow headboard as Dietmar says, though Ive never used it. The particular model you want is the second one up from the bottom, La 231E Chapelon. Simply unzip as per normal and you should get the Freench model. I don't have a translation though I do speak French as it happens, so let me know if anything doesn't work.

HOWEVER, I think what you want is to add the headboard and side arrows to a British loco, and this probably involves more work. It also varies according to the loco, of course, Bulleid original or rebuilt, Britannia, Class 71 or even the CoCo diesel. I don't think the French model will help on all of these.

Best pm me separately if you want help with the translation etc, no point in making everyone bored!

Cheers

HiRoger, thanks again for reply. Have found BATS woking - Basingstoke on UKTS CD Ordering Page providing it's still available. £20, still good value for money. But have spent quite a few quid recently on new Routes, so will have to leave it for a week or so.

There are still some copies of the BATS Southern Region pack on sale at £19.99 here (on the CD ordering page). Very worthwhile for any SR fan as it includes the superb BATS models of the Bulleid West Country and Battle of Britain class light Pacifics (including Golden Arrow insignia).

Hi Paul
What your looking for is

ecusson_goldenarrow.s
goldenarrow.ace

Then add the line

Freightanim ( ecusson_goldenarrow.s 1 1 )

to your eng file.

However this is the French headboard......... so not quite what you want.

That's good, Paul, the route didn't interest me particularly but the stock certainly did! Apart from the GA headboards & insignia you get the GA pullmans plus the Southern diesel and electric locos.

And my memory may be playing tricks, but if you visit the MT site there are downloads of the Class 71 with GA insignia. Can't recall whether you need the originals and I seem to remember having to correct a fault with the green version (flying arrows!) but worth checking anyway

Hallo!
I've just tried out the different headboards in Shape Viewer. When you load ecusson_flechedor.s as second shape you get the French board, when you take ecusson_goldenarrow.s the board is in English. When use the board with another engine it will probably not be in the correct position because of the different sizes of the engines. Then you must uncompress the file with SFM and bring it into position with the shift function of SFM.

Keep on steamin'!
Dietmar

P.S.: I've just tried the board (in Shape Viewer, not in the sim) with 34067 "Tangmere". I had to shift the board 0.61 m backwards to get it to the right position.

Oh, learned something again! I was so busy solving the problem of getting the board from the French engine to another one that I didn't notice that the right language wasn't everything. Pardon an ignorant from the continent, please, but without my ignorance I'd never seen the beautiful photo you posted.

Hi Dietmar

Perhaps you'd like to see this photo of a Bulleid Light Pacific in 1960 with the Golden Arrow headboard - http://alan-lewis-chambers.fotopic.net/p18620439.html . Real working steam, rather than polished and preserved.
Alan

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558

Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Hi all, Trust me to purchase wrong CD.

Somebody mentioned the Golden Arrow Headboards could be found on BATS Southern Region Woking to Basingtoke.

Having purchased it, there is no mention of Golden Arrow headboards anywhere.

Jon Bilton sent excellent picture 21C123 see above

Any more help please.

P.S. Not sure where to post this but would anybody out their with the know how please consider creating a set of headboards for the Golden Arrow. Jon Biltons picture 21C123 is an excellent example with the Golden Arrow on the side, flags etc.
I have also seen somewhere, smaller Arrows on the Deflectors. I think there are a lot of Steam Engines out their, although maybe not in character, would look great in Golden Arrow Livery, For example Britannia Class, A4's etc.
