Thanks for The IOW Route

Just like to thank all at RSDL for this superb addon. Runs great with good framerates on my machine. Lovely Rolling Stock and some incredible new scenery items for Route Builders.
Have just been Free Roaming round the route and also had a fly around to check it all out. An excellent piece of work in all aspects. Love the new sounds also. Off to try the Scenarios now.
You have hit the ground running with this one.

I 100% agree with James, what a beauty!
This shows what RS can do, Congratulations to all at RS!
Only one problem Derek, my West Somerset route i have been working on for many months will need the track relaying, with that fantastic new track.
A big thanks from a very satisfied customer.

Yep, thanks from me too. I have only ridden the line for real once, some years ago, but it brings back memories. I love the lens flare on the colour light signals, the track textures and the lineside vegetation (and the amount of lineside clutter not affecting frame rate). Well done.

Only query - do the 485 units really take off like a bat out of hell? The brakes seem right, but acceleration does seem a touch fierce.

Yes very impressive,I love the Hovercraft and was there a ship i saw in the distance when approaching the pier head?Altogether a first class route.Well worth the pennys.Well done Adam and the team.The question that remains is what next?

I was going to hold off buying this till the mk2 patch came out,but it looked the business so I brought it and I must say it is very good,like the night effects,route markers all there if you want to rebuild IOW railways,just hope mk2 is not to far off now.

Yes we put all the route markers down and created the terrain along those routes for those who might be interested in extending the lines. Adam is to thank for that little addition.

I must echo the comments of those above, cracking route! That's £19.99 well spent. I have one query which is probably due to my own idiocy than anything else. I thought it would be nice to see those excellent freeware terriers running on the steam line but when I go into the route editor both the linear objects and the consists icons are unavailable. As I say it's bound to be something i've done but anyway if anyone could enlighten me i'd be greatful. Cheers!

p.s. really, really looking forward to the RSDL 101 DMU.

You should note that although the Route Markers are there, the DEM data is not. The IOW is not fully modelled, and if you go into the World Editor, you will find large areas without terrain, if you then press the T key to build the terrain, you will get a big hole where the terrain drops to sea level.

So make sure you download the DEM data for the area before doing any remodelling.

Looking at the map in the readme for this route, i think i read that someone was going to attempt a 50's version before it was beeched! Now that is going to be challenging especially if the quality and lod are kept the same

Only thing i remember from the isle of white ( i was only 4! 1963) was the green double decker buses with the doors at the front not like in B,ham with them at the rear! And of course the Queen Mary sailing past whilst enjoying a day at the beech at Sandown i think or was it Ventnor??, oh happy day's

I think graphical this is a great add-on but I do feel that the ride seems to lack a lot of atmosphere. For me anyway what I remember about going on the old underground stock on the IOW is the feeling like my fillings were going to come out at their top speed. On RS it all seems a bit calm and tame. I was hoping for more cluttering sounds and perhaps some break noise as they are applied along with the cab moment that you get in real life?
