Southern Class 171 (v5)

Post by richardpratt »

I have now updated the 171 once again by redoing the textures to a much higher standard with some slight weathering added, and improved the interior textures also. Please bear in mind the green on the front may appear to be a slighly different shade to the side in some images, but that is just the light giving it this appearance.
Like the previous version, a two car version has also been done with the running number 171701.

Just a little tip. In Shape Viewer un 'View' tick the option to 'View Low Quality textures' Will give you a better idea of how textures, and mainly weathering will look in the sim.

Besides that a great improvement. :)

may be a tad picky, but maybe edit the headlight textures so it doesnt look like the rear lights are on all the time? (obviously the photo they were from is from the back of a unit)

Does it matter?

Once again, it looks like we have another high quality reskin of a model on it's way
Geoffrey Swindale.

to answer your question, its on LBE, rather than LSC,

however the skin looks great, but as mentioned, is there anyway to sort out the red marker lights?

It is possiable. If it doesnt already you can put the shapes into Shape File Manager. For one coach end change the name of the texture to something different. That will allow different textures for the front coach and rear coach. I *think* I did this with the Hull trains 170 that I uploaded a while ago.

Could you also do that on units so you could say have Shenfield on end and say Romford on the other.

Maybe he has the updated signs pack???? :-? Does it really matter mate, its not what hes advertising and its not exactly a striking feature at that, that is literally like saying that blade of grass is in the wrong place :-?
