Yup, know all about it. Plenty of scope for GMPTE units, even Thames Mersey route as well, as 303s worked as far south as Rugby when they first moved down south.glasgowworks wrote:Remember you have got the Woodhead 2.2 route as well, it has Hadfield/Glossop lines too, it is still currently avaliable in the file library. I have driven on the route over 5 years ago.NiallGray wrote:The Manchester livery I referred to is the GMPTE livery, I just had a blank when I tried to remember the name! Glossop is definitely one to consider.model321 wrote:Looking great Niall. It would be nice to see some of the Class 303 EMU's in BR GMPTE orange livery, and they would be great for activities for Terry Cunliffe's forthcoming NWE V3 route, with destinations such as those you have stated along with Glossop perhaps.
Does NWE V3 cover the Hadfield/Glossop lines? I'll have to ask Terry.
This is the line where Class 506 used to run whem the line was 1500vDC. The Manchester to Hadfield/Glossop line was converted to standard 25kvAC in 1984 and Class 303's then took over. It has since been replaced by Class 323s.
If I get a chance I'll put up a pic tonight.
