Hi All,
I just wanted to suggest that a few 'internal hard drive caddies' can be extremely useful in a situation like this. You can run RS on windows XP and experiment with different configurations on a few backup hard drives (inside the removable caddies), it works well and enables you to safeguard the files on your main hard drive and if anything goes wrong you can just slam in your backup for a good old stress busting thrash up the GWML - if you can justify the cost of extra hard disks and caddies, of course.
Cheers,
Arnold

Re: Rail Simulator Issues - Advice Needed
Hi Everybody
I too am experiencing the same problem after trying to install The Wales & Borders Route for Rail Simulator Today !
I installed all the required addons that were listed with the download first, then installed Wales & Borders and found the same thing when starting Railsim it was not displayed in The Routes Menu at the start of Railsim.
Before installing this 3rd party addon Route I had only installed The Official American Route addon.
My Railsim has the latest patch installed, but after finding this subject I tried My Routes XML File and it to appears to be corrupt now with this text
<Locked d:type="bool">The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
End tag 'ShadowType' does not match the start tag 'Record'. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Program Files/Rail Simula...
wType d:type="cDeltaString">eShadowType_Blobby</ShadowType>
------------------------------------------------^
0</Locked>
As I am new to Railsim any help would be much appreciated in trying to get this Route working as it looks very good.
Although all My other Routes seem to play OK
Thanks in advance

Re: Rail Simulator Issues - Advice Needed
Hmm seems I am having exactly the same problems.. Have put my last good routes xml in place .. Is it safe to go into the routes folder and simply remove Wales and Borders for good then now..
EDIT**** Solved this, realised now my clean Routes xml is in place I could have a go at installing it again... Worked first time.. Looks an excellent route...
