Looking to put a group together

Post by Hymek »

Hi Guys n girls

Im looking into putting a group of people together to create freeware 1st Generation DMUs for MSTS. Apart from Reg's 101, Daves now almost archaic 117 (and rehashed 115) (sorry dave, no offense meant  ) and simons Barnes' old 100/104/110 and 129 units we are missing alot of freeware 1st Gen Multiple units. the 1st gen MUs were the mainstay of non express services from the 1960s to the early / late 1990s and they have been largley forgotten as far as MSTS is concerned.

Im looking for some model makers, .eng file experts and possibly one or two skinners to create the missing classes
(107/108/109/111/112/113/114/115/116/117/118/119/120/121/122/123/125/126/127/128)

is anyone up for the task? if so PM or email me

Hi James
Sounds like an excellent project, I'll help where I can.
I'd love to see a 114 twin unit.
Cheers

Hello James,

I would not know where to start with model creation, but what a great scheme.

I agree with Jon, No.1 for me would be a Lincoln heavyweight 114, followed close behind with a 120 CC set (one eye on MEP),

I'd be most happy to help with skinning, A link to an example of my work is provided below

I also have a bit of tsm experience, for which I have provided a link to the thread, but admittedly that project did hit a brick wall which was a shame :(

I must tell you i am in the process of building the bluebell railway for RS, but if you like that can be implemented into the group. But obviously i am very much willing to help work on getting some Phase 1 DMU's into MSTS :D

As I did the 'rehashed' 115, I would be interested in lending a hand with textures if any help is required. Not up to model building unfortunately, but like I say, I'm available if required :)

A excellent idea, be nice to see some 1st Gen DMUs on the NVR route for one because if it never closed under BR I suspect we would have seen DMUs on it anyway :D

Hi there,

Periodically check e-bay, something may turn up. I have picked up a couple of interesting books from there or leads to bookshops which have helped.

you could try the DMU group i think they have diagrams and so on, so forth. The DMU groups websites linked off the SVR site if they have a web address if not the postal address is available.
