A friend of mine has downloaded and presented me with the Bristol Cardiff route in Miniroute form.
What would I do (add, subtract, etc.,) to make it paart of my main MSTS programme.

I forgot to also mention that when I tried to download the briscard .exe file, I was told that it was corrupt.
Route Riter wouldn't touch it because it said there was a graph file(?) missing.

Hi Allen,

That one is way out of date if you go here you can get Version 4 it's auto install so realy easy to install, http://www.chrisayoung.com/download_files.html,this will give you Version 4 and now starts from Swindon, although there is Version 5 on the way.

Mike,
Thank you very much - worked a treat!
Don't suppose you know where I can find similar for The Dorset Route.

There isn't such a file for Dorset Coast I'm afraid.

The V6 DVD is in the process of being tested/created at the moment, but don't ask me when it'll be ready as I have no idea - I've some bits & pieces I need to do, but finding the time is tricky :x

Further to my successful download of BrisCard, I created a couple of activities which worked perfectly.
However, having created two more, I am receiving Error Messages to say that Asphalt Platforms are missing.
I have New Roads and the Appropriate Asphalt Platforms downloaded but when I try to run a train, I still get the same errors.
Help!!!

Hi Alan,
It may be worthwhile checking that the asphalt* s and sd files are still present in the Global/TEXTURES folder and the ace file is in the BrisCard/TEXTURES folder.

Cheers,

Ged, None of the three mentioned are in the folders.
Where can I get them from, please?

HI Alan,
Mike's probably right in that you may need them all at sometime :
 Click to view more information'Magnetic' Platform Kit I [312270 bytes] - PlatformKitI.zip
File ID: 1186 Date: 09 Oct 2002 - 17859 Downloads

Click to view more informationPlatform Kit II White Stone Version [152481 bytes] - PlatformKitII.zip

Click to view more informationPlatform Kit IV Ashphalt Version [272957 bytes] - PlatformKitIV.zip
File ID: 1211 Date: 09 Oct 2002 - 14669 Downloads

As you can see, the asphalt platforms are in the last one.
They all require manual input, but each has a readme, which is quite clear, but I suggest you ignore the "Alternative installation" instructions!

Ged,
This route is the bane of my life.
I have downloaded and installed the platforms as you suggested but still get the message that the asphalt platforms (?ft) have not loaded.
If you don't mind, I'll file this one away on get on with life with my other routes.
Thanks,
Alan.

Before you go, can you tell us the exact error message you're getting. Also, what is the meaning of "(ft?)" ?
Have you double-checked that the Asphalt* files are in their correct places? There should be 8x .sd, 8x .s and 1 .ace files.

Hi Alan,
Don't give up just yet did you put the S and SD files in the MSTS global shapes folder ?because that is where they are supposed to go,the Ace files you should only put in the routes texture folder

The messages I am receiving read - No extended shape for Asphalt Platform 20m Str.s
Global\Shapes\AsphaltPlatform20mStr.sThis is followed by similar messages but down to 10m and some with end instead of str.
